Well I’m here in a workingclass area of Dakar very close to the TV station that was shut down uh by a government uh as it was seen as biased and here around me is what was once uh the market a busy Market of yala and you can see everything’s burnt down uh yesterday
During the violent clashes between police and protesters here well um demonstrators set fire to the Stalls and you can see on the ground um clo whatever’s left of this Market uh also Vehicles cars burned down trucks motorbikes uh some of the people we spoke to here well all of them actually
Find the situation unacceptable uh some small shopkeepers in despair they’ve lost overnight everything and they are calling for the help of government they say we did not want this violence we did not want clashes we need help and also some people here telling us that it’s all macki Sal’s fault the
President of Sagal who decided with his ruling party to postpone the presidential election well here uh people telling us uh that they’re extremely uh saddened by this situation and as you can see the market completely uh burned down and uh people uh in despair here
Senegal’s political crisis deepened as a second person died Saturday in increasingly violent protests against President Macky Sall’s decision to postpone upcoming presidential elections. FRANCE 24’s Clovis Casali tells us more from Senegal.

This type of protest is unacceptable
I feel bad for the people in some of these countries thinking government gives you apartments or replaces markets – that doesn’t even happen in the USA. You get reimbursed if you have insurance with qualified coverage. If demonstrators burn shops, there just won’t be anywhere for you to shop. Also I have a feeling if you need things you should get good at internet searches and ChatGPT and help your own communities.
I hope the people succeed. Bring down the dictator!
France can't control Africa anymore 😂
