Arsenal must be ‘in the conversation’ for Kylian Mbappé, says Mikel Arteta

  1. Conversations more like a monologue with one word, No

  2. Yup not gonna happen, but least you gotta do is try. Just can’t see us affording him even if he idolized Henry as a kid and was willing to take a pay cut. His current wages are already 4x the most expensive in the squad, I just can’t see it

  3. Sure. Sort of like how Margot Robbie is part of many of my conversations.

  4. Seems like a bizarre thing to come out with at this point just from a managing fan expectations standpoint.

Putting together any sort of package to match what PSG currently offer or what Madrid will is going to be borderline impossible for most.

Feels like he’s just thrown petrol on the fire rather than the easy out of “we don’t talk about other clubs players etc etc”

  5. Joking aside, I feel like it could be a good fit for him play style wise and also he could come in and be the ‘vet’ kind of player upfront for them.

  6. As always, the quote has been carefully selected to say one thing, while he actually said something else entirely, that’s completely vanilla.

He was asked about Mbappe specifically specifically and responded, saying a club like Arsenal should be in the conversation when big players are available, but it looks like it’s going another way.

  7. Arteta big on communication, actions not so much…to be fair to him last couple of transfer windows have been above average

  8. Yeah spend all these big money and when you still lose blame it on state owned clubs who actually spent less

  9. Realistically they don’t have a chance. Wage demands are going to buy high and he’s going to want regular silverware.

I think he goes to Los Blancos; Barcelona are far behind real and looks like they will be for some time.

  10. Arsenal “How much do you want?”

    Mbappe “2 million a week”

    End of conversation

  11. I mean, Carlisle United can be in the conversation too. Doesn’t mean they’re gonna get anywhere with it
