But he has been killed, aged only 24, in a car crash in his native Kenya.

Kiptum was due to compete in the Paris Olympics later this year and would have been a favourite for a gold medal.

His rise to the peak of the sport had been incredibly fast – he only competed in his first full marathon in 2022.

May Kelvin find eternal rest in thy heavenly home above with the angels and the saints.no one will ever touch kelvin ability as a world class athlete. to gain success in his profession through hard endurance determination .and dedication .to his running career like kelvin did RIP. . and also RIP to his coach Gervais.

    Yet when I heard the news on local radio it was nothing more than a footnote, 10 second news bulletin saying he had died in a car accident with his coach.
    And then they spent 5 minutes talking football.
    How appalling, that such talent and such tragedy was deemed unimportant on BBC Radio Suffolk.

  3. Terrible . Gone at his peak. Didnt he get much prize money for winning ?? Some companies should use his images for their promotions ..and then pay his wife 😮

  4. Just read an article about his father talking about all the things his son had promised to buy for him and now all of that is out the window. They only looked at him as a meal ticket.
