Nicolas Jackson: “When I was young, I supported Real Madrid & Karim Benzema missed a lot of chances. Later, Benzema won the Ballon d’Or. I’m not saying I’m that level. I can’t be that level now. But I’ve seen it before so I’m not worried. I’m trying to improve every day & be where I want to be”

  1. Good mentality but Benzema was a beast in Lyon & his 1st years with us, it was just a slump of 3 yrs & he got back to the lvl he used to be

  2. Benzema at his worst was waaaay better than this chump has ever been. Jackson is still young and I respect his mentality, but I don’t think he’ll ever get close to Benzema levels.

  3. Ffs some of yall need to relax and learn some reading comprehension. Not everything is an attack on Madrid….

Dude isnt criticizing Karim or saying he’s as good as he was or anything remotely similar…. he’s using Karim as a role model and as an example of a forward going through a rough patch and breaking through and becoming the best.

  4. “When I was young”, my brother in Christ you are 22 years old.

  5. I hate when these players use Real Madrid players past to gas themselves up. Mudryk said something similar too about Vini

  6. He’s right that Benz was known for missing sitters back in his early days. Still, he was miles beyond Jackson at that age. This dude doesn’t pass the eye test at all. Not sure what Chelsea were thinking.

  7. I mean he’s not wrong, yes there was a phase in time where Benzema wasn’t clinical AT ALL.

If xG was a thing back then, we would know much better. Benzema was coming off the bench too, he was forced to impact the game in other ways than scoring. That’s what Nicolas Jackson has to learn first
