> The poker game surrounding Alphonso Davies is entering its hot phase!
> According to Sky information, there has been a secret meeting in the past few days between Davies’ agent Nick Huoseh and sporting director Christoph Freund in Munich. The meeting mainly focused on Davies’ future, which is more open than ever.
> **Davies is under contract with Bayern until 2025**
> The 23-year-old left-back still has a contract until 2025 and is demanding a significant salary increase for an early and long-term contract extension, which Bayern are unwilling to pay (Sky reported exclusively). In addition, in recent weeks and months, the Munich club has not always been satisfied with the player’s performances. Currently, Davies is sidelined due to a muscle injury but is expected to be back in the squad for the game against SC Freiburg after next.
> If Davies does not extend his contract, he is expected to be sold in the summer! According to Sky information, most of the officials at the German record champions currently assume that Davies will not extend his contract and will push for a departure in the summer.
> Davies decision is imminent!
> **Hernandez as Davies’ successor?**
> For months, talks have been ongoing behind the scenes between Real Madrid and Davies’ management. There is nothing standing in the way of a verbal agreement, and Real Madrid have already discussed the salary with the 23-year-old Canadian.
> However, a sticking point is likely to be the transfer fee: According to Sky information, Real Madrid is currently willing to pay a total package of 40 to 50 million euros. In addition, Real is reportedly planning to enter the race with an initial offer of 35 to 40 million euros, with one year remaining on Davies’ contract. The Bayern club expects that Real Madrid will try to drive the price down to the maximum.
> Will Bayern go along with this? Max Eberl, who will be appointed as sporting director on Monday, must solve this tricky poker game as soon as possible. In the background, there are already contemplations about possible Davies successors: One of them is Theo Hernandez from the Italian top club AC Milan.

The only concern I have with Davies is that he’s injury prone.

Bit overrated and injury prone but it’d be nice to have a world class LB that can attack after all these years of suffering Mendy.
I like Mendy, a real warrior and an elite defender, but he’s painful to watch when.we attack. And as a big club our fullbacks expend most of the time attacking.
Edit: not really injury prone, specially compared with Mendy and Carvajal
We got Mendy for 60. Davies for 50 is a steal for today’s money. We should buy him yesterday.
My only concern is that our foreigners keep being far more than the natives. We need to promote some guys from la Fabrica. Marin is good, Blanco and Arribas could have a role in the squad, Miguel is good enough to compete for a starting role vs Davies.
I’d rather they pay that 50 for a centerback and just play Mendy/Fran at the LB
Are there still any good fullbacks that can defend? Personally, I believe the primary role for a fullback is to defend and getting Davies and hakimi later, will leave the team very unbalanced
I have questions about his injury history and I’m not aware if he is good defensively
Hopefully this works out the same way the Bayern to Madrid pipeline has worked
Madrid are building something scary if they manage to sign both mbappe and davies
Guy could be Marcelo but with elite pace, add to that he’s a Galactico in the sense he’s the biggest NA player I think it makes sense
2024-25 Madrid is going to be STACKED, now we just need a RB and CB. Personally I’m a fan of Pedro Porro cause spanish and I like his offensive play. But carvajal is still playing great and Hakimi seems to be an option so maybe a CB like Inacio would be nice future potntial
