  1. I know there is a strong anti-vax movement “indigenous” to Ireland, but is the state communicating the need to vaccinate to Ukranian refugees as they arrive and enter schools?

    >[Measles, which is endemic in Ukraine, is seen as a particular, and imminent, threat given the low vaccine coverage rate, which stood at 69% in 2022. Habicht said the “challenges of war” had contributed to the low rate. In a measles outbreak in 2017–19, over 115 000 people were infected and 41 died.](https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lanmic/article/PIIS2666-5247(23)00337-3/fulltext#:~:text=Measles%2C%20which%20is%20endemic%20in,were%20infected%20and%2041%20died.)

  2. Hopefully the parents are charged with child neglect.

  3. If covid is anything to go by, half the country will have it before anything is done

  4. Hopefully we wont see that number rise much higher.
Please for the love of god people vaccinate your kids,it doesnt cause autism. That entire thing was made up by a corrupt doctor who falsified info and published a fake study to make people not trust the mmr vaccine so he could sell seperate versions manufactured by companies that he set up and ran.
There is an entire documentary about this, please watch it

Protect your children people. Every reputable medical professional can say with absolute certainty that the diseases they protect against are infinitely worse than any minor side effects of vaccines

  5. Do we know the demographics of the people getting measles? It would help identify the problem and lead to a better resolution.

Is it Irish natives, who would have been offered it as children and their parents just declined because of anti vac sentiment?

Is it breakout cases? (Which I know is very rare with the measles vaccine).

Is it people who couldn’t get the vaccine for medical reasons?

Is it immigrants who come from countries who may not have been offered the vaccine or whose rates are significantly lower?

    Be interesting to know.

  6. I’ve gotten a Bone marrow transplant recently and am at the beginning of my vaccination plan (the treatment wipes you clean of everything) I can’t get the MMR vaccine until sometime in 2025 it seems. Because people are disgusting and some are stupid, I now have to go back to covid like times and keep a step away from everyone.

Besides all my fellow immunocompromised people out there, this can kill its unvaccinated victims just as easy.

  7. My uni is giving out free vaccines so might just pick one up soon😬. Who could’ve guessed not vaccinating can make yourself and more importantly the people around you sick, modern marvel that.

  8. Hysteria vibes.

Kids getting measles is no big deal. Get it once and you are sorted for life.

  9. Oh ffs. I know my niece isn’t vaccinated, because her mam is insane, and when I think of it I know a couple of weirdos who didn’t get their kids vaccinated because of absolute nonsense … I swear to god we are getting dumber by the year.

  10. It’s crazy to me that there are people in remote parts of the world who walk miles for days to get vaccines and we can hop in the car for 10 mins and get it with ease. Yet people spread crazy theories about vaccines.

  11. We need to lock down now! Shut down everything and force people to stay at home.

  12. Can someone explain the dangers of this?

In my mind 99% of people were vaccinated as a child (or at least I think so), so wouldn’t that mean only people who are not vaccinated are at risk?

    Or am I at risk?

  13. It’ll take many children deaths for the gobshites to start realising that vaccinations are not a global lizard takeover

  14. The Irish government aren’t even checking passports, never mind medical records of foreign nationals. What do you expect? A country ran by naive idiots.

This 3rd case was brought into the country from the Middle East.
