In my experience, I recall being required to wear a head covering when entering a conservative synagogue in Capetown. 40 years ago, women were required to wear modest dresses and cover their heads and shoulders when entering a cathedral in Italy. Men had to wear long pants. If I wish to enter a Sikh temple, I must also cover my head. Many religions have prescriptions and injunctions. When in someone else’s country, as guests we are obligated to follow those customs and traditions or decide not to visit.
Since 2013, Israel stopped stamping visitor’s passports. Instead, giving visitors a piece of paper, like a train ticket, as most ME countries, do not recognize the state of Israel and will not allow entry to those, whose passports contains an Israeli stamp. Yes, please continue shouting, that Israel is apartheid. What a farce!!!!
