[OptaPaolo] 3 – Inter have failed to progress three of the last four times they have faced a Spanish team in the knockout stage of the Champions League – v Villarreal in the quarter-finals in 2006 and Valencia in the round of 16 in 2007 previously. Stop.

  1. Spanish teams are kryptonite for Italian teams.

Last year we were lucky to face two Portuguese teams and Bilan.

I’m happy because of the league but we threw the qualification in the bin during the first leg.

  2. The one against Villarreal is really hurt, even more than last night defeat, we had players like Adriano, Recoba, Veron and Figo at the time, against a very mediocre Villareal, and then we are lose just because the damned away goal rule (which if implemented in last night game, will see us go through)
