I saw a tweet that showed his stats in his last 15 starts and he had 2 goals and 2 assists. Half of those contributions coming in the supercup win vs Barca. Those stats are absolutely unacceptable for a starting forward at Real Madrid. It’s not even that he’s inconsistent at this point because he’s been pretty consistent at being mediocre over his career at Real Madrid. That run of goals in November, the UCL goals in 2022, those are all just flashes and never the norm for him.
It’s been 2 years since those goals against City and he has failed to step up the way Vini did in 21-22. With Mbappé coming his role on the bench is secured and he absolutely deserves it. It’s looking like an easy sell in 24/25 and it sucks because for a long time I preferred Rodry over Vini and think he has great quality but he hasn’t shown to be anything more than an average player with sporadic moments of brilliance
