German Chancellor Scholz calls for ‘longer-lasting ceasefire’ in Gaza • FRANCE 24 English

The two men discussed basically the need um to uh keep uh humanitarian Aid coming into Gaza uh Netanyahu discussed Israel’s need he said to push on to Total victory that refrain that he he keeps repeating and to eliminate Hammer so they they reasserted their viewpoint but Olaf Schultz was there to express

Concern to and in front of the Israeli Prime Minister about the risks of a military incursion into ra r and about the risk of looming famine and indeed in their joint press conference after that meeting Olaf Schultz stood alongside Netanyahu and in front of the international media and domestic media

And said we cannot stand by and let the Palestinian people starve in Gaza um he also said that there needed to be a lasting ceasefire negotiated so those are messages that Benjamin Netanyahu doesn’t want to hear basically he’s been spending the day um saying that Israel will carry out a military offensive in

Rafa that they will push ahead he said that that operation will take several weeks and he uh called on uh International allies uh to remember what happened on October the 7th saying that this would been the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust and said that some of Israel’s allies seem to forget

That that was before he met Olaf Schultz but there’s a clear Gap there still between between Israel and its allies in the west um and it’s not clear um How the West can make any impact on netanyahu’s policy or strategy on this

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Sunday called for a deal to free hostages held in war-ravaged Gaza accompanied by a “longer-lasting ceasefire” during a joint press appearance in Jerusalem with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “Those are messages that Binyamin Netanyahu doesn’t want to hear”, FRANCE 24’s Catherine Norris Trent said.

  1. Every corrupt politician just keeps repeating “cease fire” without addressing what should happen to Hamas after this cease fire????
Are they still going to rule Gaza and keep digging tunnels and piling up weapons…

  2. The Germans did the wrong thing at the ICJ, they are aiding and abetting this slaughter. Very two-faced indeed.

  3. Israeli Reserve General Itzhak Brik said that "Israel" has "lost the war against Hamas, and continues to lose its allies around the world."

In an op-ed for the Israeli newspaper Maariv, Brik stated that "Israel's" goal to defeat Hamas has been completely wiped off the war agenda. Meanwhile, the goal of bringing captives back is yet to be achieved, amid the "army's failure to return captives alive."

In this context, Brik affirmed that "the maneuver that the entire Israeli people cheered for did not stand the test and did not achieve the result that everyone had hoped for," and explained that "Security Minister Yoav Gallant and Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi managed the war with a tactical vision instead of a strategic vision. While the war cannot be won in tactical battles alone."

He also said "Israel" cannot continue lying to its people, because what is happening in Gaza and on the northern front against Hezbollah will come back to blow up in their faces, revealing the reality of matters.

  4. UNICEF says Israel's offensive in the Gaza Strip has killed more than 13,000 children.

Catherine M. Russell, executive director of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), said in an interview on Sunday (March 17) that many children in the Gaza Strip are severely malnourished and "don't even have the strength to cry."

She said: "Thousands of children have been injured in the war and we are not even sure where they are, some may be trapped under the rubble… We have seen such high child mortality rates in few other conflicts around the world. .”

  5. Well guys Netanyahu is same bully personality as trump and Putin!!
You have to understand that you have to stop supporting bullies or you will get more problems!!!
Or perhaps you think you don’t have enough to handle it!!!
