Horrifying moment hot air balloon crashes into high voltage powerlines leaving 3 dead
THIS is the horrifying moment a hot air balloon crashed into powerlines and killed all three on board.
The balloon was left ripped to shreds before the basket burst into flames in Georgia.
It was virtually destroyed in seconds as it hit a set of high voltage powerlines after it failed to reach a certain height to safely pass the lines.
An unconfirmed report said the pilots were going to attempt to break a world record for the longest flight in a hot air balloon but the crash happened on one of the practise runs.
The two pilots on board had struggled with the high winds throughout the flight as it appeared to be tricky to navigate as the balloon even touched the ground when flying over a field.
It was also seen by onlookers getting blown wildly out of control and swaying all over the place before the tragic crash near the village of Asureti in eastern Georgia.
Part of the burning balloon quickly dropped to the ground as the rest sat smoking and ablaze on the power line.
Popular Imedi TV cameraman Misha Bidzinashvili was one of the people on board when the tragic crash happened.
Imedi TV changed its programme schedule to honour the man.
The second was experienced pilot Revaz Uturgauri, the founder of Sky Travel and president of the Georgian National Aeronautics Federation.
Uturgauri wrote on his social media before the flight: “We are flying across all of Georgia from the Black Sea to the border with Azerbaijan.
“The distance is not very long – about 400 km. But the flight is difficult, as it passes mainly over the mountains.”
The third man was Polish pilot Krzysztof Zapart, according to local reports.
Both pilots were believed to be experienced at flying hot air balloons, according to reports.
The balloon took off on Wednesday morning from a stadium in Poti and was due to fly to Kakheti in the east of the country.
Georgian police opened up an investigation into the deaths as they look into a suspected violation of basic safety rules during the flight.
This was the first hot air balloon accident in Georgia in nearly two decades.

Shocking!
This was Trumps fault! 🫵🏼
A mistake costing 3 lives, hard to watch. My condoleances to the families of the people involved.
do they get a refund? 2 soon…? 😊
I don't know anything about riding on hot air balloons, but I would think it's a bad idea to go out in strong winds. Why didn't they wait until the winds calm down?
Thats why i dont trust baloons
Jesus, what the hell is going on is a two yr old taking the video
This is what happens when you give a big balloon to Dumb and Dumber

Remember the powerline safety vid with the hot dog? This one is right there with it.
A nice break from the FPV drone videos, getting old now.
Did anyone survive or did they all die?
How Human Nature Works
Human nature is the desire to receive, also called “desire to enjoy,” and it functions by receiving what is beneficial to itself and rejecting what is harmful. Everything in our lives is built upon this calculation where we first try to distance ourselves from harm, and then seek how to draw ourselves closer to what is beneficial.
Human nature also includes a multilayering of systems that work simultaneously on still, vegetative, animate and human levels. One of those systems is our bodily one, which operates involuntarily. If our bodies are healthy, then they know what is good for them and draw that goodness to themselves. After the bodily system, there is the emotional system, which also functions relatively according to instinct. From the emotional system, we move to the mind, and from the mind to the intellect, and so on. That is, we have systems over systems that concurrently work on receiving what is beneficial and rejecting what is harmful.
Such is human nature and the essence of our lives. Our every desire, thought and action operates according to the calculation, “How can we receive what is most beneficial to us and reject what is harmful?”
Another person who missed their calling as a professional videographer.
I'm sorry, but these poor folks just didn't think it would be a good idea to jump out when the basket was dragged on the ground, or was it a smart idea to be ELECTROCUTED. The gene pool just lost 3 people who not willing to UNDERSTAND, ( what goes up, MUST come down ). For people who think it's fun to jump out of a perfect running Airplane, or to take a balloon ride in ANY weather, well there's a DNA issue for sure. My condolences to the family, hope they had LIFE INSURANCE, if not get a DAM GOOD LAWYER.
Turkey Capadocia region has the best balloon flying experience..it's really awesome. They monitor wind and give approval based on safe wind.
