Interesting candidate, but here’s a bit of background on Canada Soccer
Canada Soccer are in a hot mess right now. They’re in shambles because of a deal in 2018 they made with another organization — that only nets Canada Soccer $3m annually, the rest of the sponsorship and media revenues goes to that organization (CSB).
– they couldn’t even afford Jonathan David a first class plane ticket to last year’s Gold Cup? Or one of those summer tournaments
But they’ve recently hired a general secretary, and things hopefully look brighter.
The fact that this federation celebrates friendlies vs Mexico and Netherlands tells you a lot. They celebrate the fact they are able to BOOK the actual friendly, not the actual game itself. baby steps.
– Shame because they’ve got Alphonso Davies, Jonathan David, Tajon Buchanan, Stephen Eustaquio, Ismael Koné, and Alastair Johnston as their core — all of whom play for top European clubs.
Expectations commensurate with his ability.

I always used to somewhat dismiss managers of “colour” who would complain about the lack of opportunities. Especially as I see football management as one of those jobs with very little respect where everyone is getting fired.
But then you have the likes of Gerrard and Lampard landing decent jobs. Wayne Rooney getting the Birmingham role etc.
He’s incompetent as a manager anyway.
