  1. >Alexander Nübel has extended his contract at FC Bayern by a further four years to 30 June 2029, with his original deal set to run until summer 2025. An agreement has also been reached with VfB Stuttgart that the 27-year-old will remain there on loan for another two seasons. Nübel moved to Munich in summer 2020 from Schalke and has spent this campaign on loan at the club currently third in the Bundesliga table.

    >Max Eberl, FC Bayern board member for sport: “We’re pleased we could agree to a long-term extension with Alexander Nübel. He’s made excellent progress in recent years and is among Germany’s best goalkeepers. He can continue to play at a high level at VfB Stuttgart. FC Bayern is superbly positioned now and for the future in the goalkeeper department with Manuel Neuer, Sven Ulreich, Daniel Peretz and Alexander Nübel.”

    >Alexander Nübel: “I’m very happy about this decision and the trust that FC Bayern has shown in me. At the same time, I feel very good in Stuttgart. I want to enjoy success with VfB and take my next steps personally.”

    >Nübel made four competitive appearances in goal in his first season at FC Bayern, winning the Bundesliga, the UEFA Super Cup and the DFL Supercup. He then spent two years on loan in French football at Monaco, playing 97 games between 2021 and 2023. Nübel has since established himself as No.1 at Stuttgart this season and appeared in 29 fixtures to date.

  2. Another 2 season at Stuttgart.

Also means Neuer will try to play 2 more years? (guess he is aiming for 1 last world cup)

  3. This doesn’t make any sense. Why is the loan already extended for TWO more years? As it stands we don’t have a goalkeeper other than Peretz for 25/26. This only makes sense if we already decided now to extend Neuer until 2026, which I would find more than questionable.

If not Neuer, we would have to get a new goalkeeper in 25/26, which means by 26/27 we wouldn’t need Nübel anymore.

  4. Like it. His contract would have ended in 2025, so he can’t leave on a free and it also gives you flexibility in regards to Neuer after 2025. Good to have a lot of options to choose from.

  5. I like Nübel, but what a weird signing so far. Came in 2020 (I think?) and is basically loaned out till 2026, so that he can play for us from 29 years old and onwards. Goalies can play longer than normal onfield players, I know, but still
