  1. Very interesting how this thread has zero comments after 3h, while other threads that are much less insightful have like 50 comments already.

  2. Never realized that United have spent more than City..

  3. You realise you’re showing pep guardiola isn’t simply a cheque book manager and man city spend their money better than anybody else here? This isn’t going to go well for you op. Brave man.

  4. It’s also just overall trophy count, so there is no distinction between winning a domestic league, CL or carabao cup, Pep and City would probably look even better if one gives more weight to trophies relative to prestige, so like CL > Domestic League > FA cup > carabao cup etc.

  5. We can see that arsenal spent slightly less city. it is underappreciated fact that gunners dont get confronted by it often. While liverpool, really really put a great fight with way less finance. they deserve the whine and moan more than anyone else

  6. Ciry had to spent vast amounts of money to get them where they are today. They also spend wisely compared to utd who are poor. City are also quite good at recycling players, shifting on players like Laporte, Cancelo, and Mahrez which keeps their net spend lower and keeps the squad up to date.

It still doesn’t hide the fact that they had to spend huge amounts and cooked the books to get there.

  7. Does this net spend include wages or is it just the typical misleading transfer fees out – transfer fees in stat? If it’s the latter, it doesn’t really tell the whole story: if two teams have the same transfer fee expenditure but one spends £200m more in wages, their actual spending is obviously not the same.

  8. I don’t think anyone says Mourinho does miracles aside from Porto. Don’t think Pep could ever do that tbf.
