US Secretary of State in Israel to push for a cease-fire in Gaza, says ‘the time is now’

outside his hotel a warm welcome awaits
Anthony blinkin among the group of
demonstrators relatives of hostages
still held in the Gaza Strip the
secretary of state knows that their
expectations are
high bringing your loved one’s home is
at the heart of everything we’re trying
to do and we will not rest until
everyone man woman soldier civilian
young old is back home to achieve that
blinkin is counting on a new truth
proposal between Israel and Hamas
negotiated over the last days in Cairo
it’s aiming in a first phase for an
exchange of Israeli hostages for
Palestinian prisoners and a 40-day
ceasefire in Gaza a cessation of
hostilities Desperately awaited by the
population of Gaza although more Aid has
been flowing into The Enclave in recent
weeks more is needed to avert a looming
famine according to the UN amas has yet
to give its response to this truce and
blink’s patience is running low
reiterating his position during his
meeting with Israeli president Isaac her
determined uh to get a ceasefire that
brings the hostages home and to get it
now uh and the only reason that that
wouldn’t be achieved is because of Hamas
uh there is a proposal on the table and
as we’ve said uh no delays no no
excuses another objective for blinkin to
urge the Israeli Prime Minister to
abandon a ground offensive in ruffer
where up to 1 and a half million
Palestinians are crowded mostly
displaced by the wall an offensive that
would be an unmitigated tragedy
according to the UN Secretary General
but which Benjamin Netanyahu says he’s
determined to carry out

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken was in Israel on Wednesday to press for a cease-fire deal, saying “the time is now” and warning that Hamas would bear the blame for any failure to get an agreement to halt the war in Gaza off the ground.

  1. If negotiation are on the table for Hamas…why Israel creating hurdles in the negotiation by talking about Rafah attack just before the talks…Is Israel doesn't want hostages to be released?

  2. What’s your big interest in trying to cater for ceasefire and deterring the IDF from attacking Tafah…?! I smell rotten fish… there’s something about that meets the eye.. I think you’re trying to hide something from Israel… black ops gone wrong…?! Hah…!!! 🥸

  3. A friend of mine had a favorite expression. "Not now, but right now." "Now" is so ambiguous. When Netanyahu hears Blinken say "now", he takes that to mean whenever it is convenient to do so and there are no consequences for delay. Here's a thought: reduce one million from their foreign aid for each day they delay a general ceasefire (as they have been told to do by the UNSC, the UN, and specifically and explicitly, the US).

  4. We are tired of every day visiting for a ceasefire in reality nothing happens, all day know is to talk and talk while continuing their atrocities .
