Alaba was that guy that was stuck perfectly in the middle between defense, midfield and the wings. He could play many positions at a high level. He ended up being best as a LB then over time as a CB. But I’m sure he could have developed as a midfielder if he wasn’t so quick and coaches kept playing as a fullback. Great player with a great left foot from deep.
