I feel like Ansu Fati just suddenly disappeared and no one talks about him anymore. This season for Brighton he has only scored 4 goals and provided 1 assist in 28 appearances. In the premier league he has been substituted in 14 times and has been in the starting XI only 3 times. His best position has been CAM where he has gotten all of his goal contributions and he’s been utilised most in the CAM position this season but in the Barcelona system it will be tricky to fit him in as a CAM. I think giving him the legendary number 10 kit after the great Lionel Messi’s departure was too much pressure on an 18 year old and injuries heavily affected him and his potential and growth negatively. Do you think he deserves another chance at Barcelona next season?

  1. Injuries killed him. So sad because we need the LW with simmilar profile to his before the injury.

  2. He needs to regain good form. I would loan him out to a team he is guaranteed to start at. If he can regain his form then, he still has the potential to do great things with us. If not, we’ll have to sell him.

  3. Fati — Guiu/Roque — Yamal, I just don’t know what year yet

  4. He went to a top league and was competing with some very underrated but elite players in his main position, still managed to look bright and finally looked like he regained his form and confidence. Even formed a partnership with Adingra and was scoring both in the prem and in europa league until he got injured. His first game back he didn’t look too bad but now I think he’s just sortve given up. A shame to see really. I think he should look to go to somewhere like Portugal and France in a team he will guarantee himself minutes and have an easier time if he wants to salvage anything.

The more you learn about his dilemma the more frustrating it becomes. Not only did he return from a leg break as a youth which normally shortens the shelf life of a player anyway, his acl injury was caused by La Liga referees poor management of harsh fouling. Then you come to find out the surgeon who was in charge of Ansu at the time is effectively a hipster option who isn’t known to be precise under the knife and has some questionable rehabilitation methods. This doesn’t help when the player and his immediate family are eager to return and want to cut corners out of fear of being frozen out of the team and the club doesn’t do enough to prevent this from happening and allegedly supported this at a time.

When Puyol made the public advice to Gavi not to rush development I wish he had been given an actual role within the club years ago to give those wise words to Fati and others.

  5. He isn’t the first promising talent to not pan out and he won’t be the last

  6. Xavi destroyed him as a player. Just like he will destroy Roque and tried to destroy FDJ moving him to CB

  7. he got injured, hasn’t regained his confidence, is on what seems to be be a shitty loan rn. I hope he can bounce back I feel so bad for him but who knows now

  8. Still gonna be my favourite wonderkid even though he’s not really performing, made a jersey back in 2019 and i put 31 on it because this guy amazes me, hope he can back on his feet and become the fati that i know

  9. Physically he’s not there yet. He’s also too selfish sometimes. I think he should have done the surgery when the doctors asked him to. But in the end I think he should be loaned out to a team like Ajax or maybe even girona.

  10. His career is about to end even before it git started. Irrespective to the club his represents in near future, I hope he gets a decent come back and at least have a mediocre career

  11. He looked pretty good at times at Brighton around the injuries.
Somewhere think the coach commented on his attitude, maybe dropping him in the pecking order along the way
