Because it’s a much harder league. Some teams get nine days off for European competitions, not here.
Literally two premier league teams won European cups last season
We can’t be there every year. Why do people see it as an outright failure when someone else gets there instead. It’s football, a sport, not shareholder bonuses. The idea that English clubs should always be there is insulting to every other country and club. I love Liverpool, I don’t deem not winning titles a failure. It’s the journey, not the destination that’s the joy.
Real would need to exert some serious effort to finish in the top 4 in the PL.
Emery only wins Europa League Titles and any team with him in Europa is guaranteed that trophy.
That’s just the way it rolls sometimes. We can all agree City outplayed Madrid in the QF but Real moved on. We were 10 minutes from an All-German final so this notion that the PL is somewhat diminished because it doesn’t have anyone in the Final doesn’t mean anything.
What is the point of this nonsense, English clubs were in European finals 3 years in a row before this one, after 2020 you have to go back to 2015 for the last time before that where no English teams were in European finals. This is nowhere near a crisis
The PL is too demanding for the players, let alone the FA cup and the Carabao.
Fixture generators punish successful teams in this league. Up until recently there was no winter break. The League Cup still has two-legged semi-finals. The FA Cup will only begin the policy of no replays after a draw next season. To put it shortly, there are too many congested games compared to the Bundesliga, for example.
Or maybe the other teams were better in direct duels this year.
Just an anomoly, no need to overreact. English teams won 2 of the 3 tournaments last season. We consistently finish in the top 2 in the coefficients (something like 8 of the last 10 times).
I imagine we will be back winning at least one, probably two tournaments again next season.
That’s why we like football right? The better team doesn’t always win, the richest team doesn’t always win. How arrogant is this take. These people forget the essence of sport
biggest cope
Surely it’s just then way the dice rolls in competition football.
There can only be 4 teams through to the semi. The top 3 or so clubs from the top 4 leagues are comparable in a head to head. And as we see Olympiacos beat Aston Villa.
Football is played the pitch not on paper.
Hahahaha so now the narrative is the league SO MUCH BETTER than the others that it means they are too tired to compete in Europe, what a joke
By the way. This is for the first time since 14/15 season that there is no english team in the final of any European competition
