Eurovision boycotted as Israel in final

if you’re involved in an invasion of another country you shouldn’t get to come to the party across Europe some have chosen to boycott this year’s Eurovision among them one of the stars of rup pool’s drag race Crystal the performer has canceled an 800 person event here at London’s Earth venue you know we’re seeing so many civilians killed right now it’s really impossible to watch um I refuse to let my you know cultural institutions be used as cover for that your vision argue that this is an apolitical event are you not kind of creating further Division and what is a very complex situation well I would just reject the idea that Eurovision is apolitical uh I think politics are baked into the format it’s a voting competition between different countries in Europe Ukraine has won multiple times with songs about Russia Russia has been kicked out of the competition when they invaded Ukraine so um there have always been political choices

Israel’s placement in this year’s Eurovision final has incensed many previously-devoted viewers like drag queen Crystal, who has cancelled an 800 person party in London. #News #Channel4News #C4News #Eurovision #Drag #London #Israel #Gaza #palestine

  1. It’s not complex it’s immoral. Given nature of original song that was to be sung by Israeli entrant I suspect it is far from apolitical

  2. I agree. (Free Palestine 🇵🇸). But also disagree, because by that standard the UK (my country) and Germany at the very least, should also not be allowed to participate. And also I feel for the singer and band. Just young musicians trying to make music.

  3. All is ill say is that what is wrong has become right, and what was right has become wrong. Wake up, people. It's Israel land, not Palestine's. You can argue with me with all you but ask yourself this: Would you want your child being taught by this man in a classroom?

  4. Go to Gaza maybe minus the heels so you can help on the ground I am sure they would be so welcoming. You are targeting a 20 year old performer who is much braver than you are. She went despite the multiple death threats and insults hurled at her. Israel 🇮🇱 gets my vote. This is supposed to be a fun music competition. Do you want to turn everything into a violent encounter? Shame on you

  6. Dude, you’re busted. The public gave Israel the 2nd place after Croatia, that means that you’re, the “influencers” who want us to believe that people hate Israel, people don’t. You do. And don’t even say “oh, that’s far-right people voted for Israel”, far-right don’t care about ESC. Stop spreading hatred, we have a mighty enemies of the West (Russia, China, etc) who’s enjoying to see the dicord and disdain that you’re sowing.

  7. How on earth did the UK give 12 points (top public vote score) to the Israeli song? It wasn't a good song. And the lyrics of the original version were absolutely shocking.

  8. Of course! Hamas invaded Israel!
And gaza is not a country. It is an appendix of Egypt no one wants and no one ever bothered to d to make a country.
Gaza invaded Israel. Not the other way around.

  9. So invading a country after they invaded you first, then brutally murdered hundreds of your people as well as other innocent civilians, and then took hundreds as hostages, women, children and elderly, is not ok? Right.

  10. The opening line here about "invading another country" encapsulates the abject moral confusion of the anti-Israel crowd
