For most Hungarians, Peter Magyar was an unknown figure in Hungary until a few months ago, when he burst into the public eye. In February, a paedophile pardon scandal rocked Hungarian politics, leading to the resignation of Hungary’s former President, Katalin Novàk and of Magyar’s ex-wife, former Justice Minister Judit Varga. Magyar, who was on the government payroll and part of the inner circle of the ruling party Fidesz, is now running against the government for European elections, and he is drawing massive crowds. DW’s Senior International Correspondent Fanny Facsar reports from his latest protest in Debrecen, a Fidesz stronghold.

Most nagyon fontos sz eunak, hogy új kormány legyen ,aki majd küld katonákat Ukrajnába…csak ezt miért mondja, hogy a magyarok akarják..költői kérdés….másik Nincs több aranybánya Magyarországon ,nem kell több magyart kiírtani..nem kell kisebbre faragni az országot hogy aranybányákhoz jussanak mert NINCS…erdélyből már mind elvitték a nemzetközi cégek.

    The insane level of corruption in Hungary is well known among the citizens for a very long time.

  5. Barna Judit Tisza Párt jelöltje egy hónappal ezelőtt egy Facebook-bejegyzés alatt kommentben azt írta Magyar Péterről, „valaki elhitte/hiszi neki, hogy ő a hazát akarja megmenteni? Azért a verbális abúzus ha magánügy is, gyomorforgató”. Alávaló színjátéknak nevezte Magyar szereplését, azt írta továbbá, hogy „bármi is derül ki erről a baromról, a rajongók tábora nem fog apadni”, illetve „aki egy szemmel láthatóan nárcisztikus idiótát a feleségével szemben véd, ott meg kell szólalni”.

  19. Have you mentioned in that riport that all this was/ IS fully organized and – havily financed by the USA Ambassy and EU – your tax paying money! – against the majority of people? Or maybe I missed it…😏

Although she is an ex-Hungarian, American reporter Ficsor fails to mention that Péter Magyar is a verbal and physical abuser of his wife (Minister of Judiciary, Judit Varga) as documented by police and ambulance reports. Mr. Magyar, as a highly paid insider, grossly benefitted the system of Orban before his scandalous betrayals. Consequently, his new Party (where he is vice-chairman) has only 19 members and his also never elected clique of 8 followers is an antidemocratic minority of the Party. Hungarians are motivated to protest the hardship of war raging in neighboring Ukraine.
