If a club comes in with a €45M offer for Vitor Roque, Barcelona will accept that & look for another forward with that money. If Roque leaves on loan, then they will look to bring in someone else on loan to fill the spot. @MatteMoretto

    No one is buying him right now. Roque goes out on loan to numerous clubs over the next 2-3 years, in a bid to hope he’ll look good enough to recoup the money, but it won’t happen and he’ll end up being be sold for less than 15m

    Neither Deco or Xavi will be at the club by the time he’s sold.

    While I do think Xavi has a strong bias towards La Masia and European playeres, that could easily be argued against considering how much he utilizes Raphinha. I don’t understand why Roque isn’t getting more minutes, he must be atrocious in training or simply being used a pawn for an agenda vs Deco.

  21. I remember reading an article going quite in depth about the economic situation in the club. It might have been provided by Kitten (dont remember the username so tag if you do). In the article it basically talked about us missing some revenue that was supposed to come from the Libero sale, and thus struggling to register players this summer. Roque was mentioned as a problem, because he was temporarily signed when Gavi got injured but would have to be registered again this summer. Could it all be the club trying to save face instead of admitting that as of now we can’t register him sithout a sale? I just fail to understand how a 18 year old player can be ostracized and discarded in a few months. Adding to that, he has seemed pretty decent in the minutes he got.

    IF that was the case, that would be peak Barcelona tbf, using the media to push out a player with a different agenda.

  22. We are giving hefty contracts to old players. We sold our assets and bought players. Our trophies in the past two years that these levers were a failure, it’s not worth the cost.

    Our future remains somewhat bright only because La Masia has produced some jewels. This board and coaching team to some extent are very shortsighted.

    But if 45M is there, it’s better to sell him if he is not the plan of Xavi than make him rot in bench.
