I don't get it. I'm reading "Trust Carlo" and stuff, but this is just simple math. Vini, Jude & Mbappe are players of world class caliber, that will always expect to play. Rodrygo isn't too far behind those.
1st option – So if we keep this season's formation and just replace Rodrygo with Mbappe, those 3 are playing. That puts Rodrygo on the bench, a player that's recently out of form, but has saved our asses so many times and is generally considered one of the best attackers there is. Will Rodrygo be content with a Joker role without the perspective of becoming a starter again anytime soon? Like does anyone expect Vini or Mbappe to become shit suddenly or leave? Because if not, there's no place for Rodrygo.
2nd option – If we play 433 again with Vini-Mbappe-Rodrygo and Fede-Tchou/Cama-Jude behind, we get one more spot in front, costing us a midfield position. If Kroos and Modric leave, I can see this happening. But this would be a much more offensive lineup than we played this season, and I'm not sure if it will even be an upgrade, Kroos was just immense.
If we choose the first option, Brahim and Arda will drop even further behind in playing time. First Rodrygo will get minutes, then Brahim and then Arda. Where Endrick will be in this, we can't say yet, but he'll definitely struggle to get minutes, especially because Carlo just doesn't like to rotate much. If we choose the 433 – and as I'm writing this I'm getting more and more sure of it – we'll have to drastically change our game plan and there won't be a place for Kroos and Modric anymore. Only if we can manage to play Pep's City level of game control, we could put up a 433 with Fede-Kroos-Jude + Vini-Mbappe-Rodrygo, but it would be very hard to pull off imo. That just doesn't sound like a functioning balanced team to me.
Oh regarding Joselu: I think we all saw how important it is to have a player like him in the squad. I think we should buy him. Neither Mbappe nor Endrick have the same abilities.
Lets quickly look at the midfield and offense for next season, if Mbappe comes, we buy Joselu and only Modric leaves:
Attack: Vini, Mbappe, Rodrygo, Joselu, Brahim, Arda, Endrick (That's 7 top quality players competing for 2-3 spots, with 2 spots that are basically reserved already)
Midfield: Kroos, Fede, Tchou, Cama, Jude, Ceballos (that's 6 players competing for 3-4 spots)
Another way to look at it: This is the minutes played in all comps for the midfielders and attackers. Mbappe will want to play at least 3000 mins, Endrick maybe 1000 and Arda will want to play at least 1000 too. Modric only has 2140 that would free up, so whose minutes do they get? This is simple maths. Even if we don't buy Joselu, it's still not enough.

|Federico Valverde|3.958|
|Rodrygo|3.414|
|Jude Bellingham|3.379|
|Toni Kroos|2.935|
|Vinicius Junior|2.814|
|Aurélien Tchouaméni|2.809|
|Eduardo Camavinga|2.567|
|Luka Modric|2.140|
|Joselu|2.000|
|Brahim Díaz|1.996|
|Dani Ceballos|751|
|Arda Güler|322 |
In my opinion we need to sell at least one attacker between Rodrygo, Brahim and Arda. Maybe Ceballos instead of Arda, if we can utilize him in midfield. Loaning those players out won't make sense, because if they can't cut it now, why would that be different a year from now? It's not like we have old players in the front that will leave soon. I would prefer to sell Rodrygo, because he'll never play to his full potential with us on the right wing. As a Turk I would hate it if Arda was sold, but if I'm being honest I don't see him get a real shot to compete for a starting position. Brahim was a very good sub this season and if he's content with that role, I'd love to keep him forever. But if he wants to start every game, he would need to leave, and tbh I can see it.

You forgot the best number 9 itw Joselu
Nope. Some big name will leave for sure. My bet is on rodrygo. Endrick will probably go out on loan. Arda could go on loan too, but i would like arda to stay.
There was news of a Champions League format shift where that would be another league type system, and in such a case, I think we can accommodate all of them.
If they want to play for RM they will have to fight for their spot. If they prefer to start in any other team in the world, they will be allowed to leave.
The season is long and if you want to compete for treble you need deep bench. People complain about the load of players, this will be good for players longevity and injury prevention.
The players will like it or not, but the club is going in right direction.
If managed properly absolutely we can
We are playing loads of games. Everyone will get their chance. Some will obviously play more but I don’t think anyone will get “less” game time.
CL is expanding. We have the new CWC. Plenty of games.
We handled BBC, Modric, Kroos, Casemiro, Ramos and Marcelo during our 3-peat era. We’ll be completely fine here. No player is above the club, let alone Real Madrid.
Besides, expect several of them to get overloaded due to the congested schedule of the bullshit Club World Cup, Intercontinental Cup and the bullshit Swiss System UCL that UEFA put up because they like money, so rotations are of the essence now.
I do expect that a big player will leave this summer. This is how it worked so far after all. Not sure who’ll leave though. If we’ll stick to 4-3-1-2, then it’s probably Rodrygo. If we switch to 3 in the front, then I think we can maybe keep all the attackers, but a midfielder will leave instead – possibly Camavinga but who knows.
With new UCL format and going for the CDR, these are 9 additional games, or a total of 4,860 additional minutes for the 6 front spots. Removing Dani and Modric, another 2,891 minutes, so a total of 7,751 minutes.
Those should easily cover Mbappé (3,500), Endrick (1,000), and Arda (+1,000). Plus 2,200 extra to split between players like Cama, Tchou abd Brahim.
Math adds up…. If we go for the treble!!
For a long time I thought mbappe isn’t the necessary piece of puzzle after he ditched us in 2022 but now that it has become inevitable for mbappe and real Madrid to meet I myself genuinely think of the scenarios where any of these player probably can leave in future. I’m listening rumors of both kroos and modric leaving so we can move to 4-3-3 with jude, fede, tchouameni/camavinga as our starting midfield with 3 up front if mbappe was comfortable playing centred as a 9 it would have solved a lot of problem but he isn’t comfortable there but that isn’t the main issue for starting vini, mbappe and rodrygo would be starter if we stick to 4-3-3 then we got brahim, arda, endrick/joselu as substitute which could become a issue after some time because no matter if there’s 40 or 60 matches after a certain point because all of them are young according to there level they all will be wanting to start most of the game no one would love a bench role. It’s just my opinion let’s hope for the best. HALA MADRID Y NADA MAS!
Are we really sure being a starter for a team like Leipzig is better for a young player’s development than being on the bench here?
Our track record of developing young talent into world class players is quite impressive
As far as game time is concerned, Ceballos is set to leave I believe and player’s versatility will greatly help to rotate
Kroos can only play 2 positions and Joselu one, besides that every midfielder and forward can play in at least 3 positions. Plus Joselu, Endrick and Arda are clearly below everyone else in the pecking order, they’re not good enough to demand 2.5k minutes yet
First of all, next season will have more matches with the new format of the club world cup and UCL. If this season has taught us something, it’s that squad depth is crucial to be able to compete for everything, and that will be even more important next year. We had the center-back position well covered with Militao, Alaba, Rudiger and Nacho, and both Tchouameni and Carvajal ended up covering that position.
That said, I agree that our attack will be stacked with the arrivals of Mbappé and Endrick. I don’t think Florentino is planning to sell Rodrygo though. If Kroos and/or Modric stay for another year, I think Arda Güler may go on a loan to be able to have more minutes and build his confidence and physical fitness. If they both leave I can see him staying.
I also agree that we are probably going back to a 4-3-3 but that will be very flexible throughout the season. I can see Ancelloti changing to 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 depending on the match and available players, that gives a lot of flexibility.
Another crucial factor is that some of the players you mentioned can play multiple positions: Jude has been a false 9 this season but he played as a defensive or central midfielder in Dortmund, I can see him going deeper again depending on the match. Fede can play anything from right-back to any midfield position or right winger, where he could be very important again if we play a 4-3-3 but want to keep a good control of the ball and during defensive transitions. Same for Camavinga on the left side, Tchouameni as a center-back, Rodrygo/Brahim in any attacking position, etc.
All in all, it is indeed a stacked squad, but with all the extra matches, injuries and flexibility of the system and players I think we’re in a good position to keep everyone more or less happy and compete for everything.
Hala Madrid!
The Power of Friendship will do it.
Easily 433
The right answer will always be 433. For midfield surplus, both kroos or modric might leave or stay in a lesser role. Endrick will use joselus minutes.
I don’t think it is that important for young players to play every single minute tbh, it would be better for Guler and Endrick to not have too much pressure early and be allowed to grow into their roles. Look at Phil Foden who was not a regular starter before last year. And even Vini needed a couple of years to settle in. We are not barca who play young players until they get injured and ruin their careers like they did with Pedri and Gavi.
Mbape will absolutely ruin friendship fc
Accelotti can!
I think someone will move out of the big names you mentioned. But I do feel that will only happen after 2 seasons atleast. No one leaves next season or the one after that. But I do feel that as the insecurities grow, as this is at the end of the day survival of the fittest and Rodrygo would want to play because if he is benched for most part his Brazil place will eventually come under jeopardy. Arda and Güler will want to play more 2 seasons from now on when they are 19/20. So yeah I see some of them moving but not until 2 seasons at minimum. In football never say never as they say.
Since when are we worried about having too many good players??? It’s called competing for your spot and it gets the best out of your players. Also I know players are used to starting between ages 18 and 22 but that’s not the norm. Vini didn’t become a starter right away it took a few seasons. A lot of these players are still very young and if they’re ok with it they can gradually build minutes over time like guler could become a starter at age 24 thats in 5 years! Madrid is doing it the right as evidenced by the constant winning and how young the squad is there’s a good balance between youth and experience.
The key person this summer is Kroos. If we win the CL and if Germany wins the Euro, there’s a real possibility of him retiring. He has been very clear that he doesn’t see himself playing for long.
If he retires, it’s possible we switch to a 4-3-3. If he stays, it’ll probably still be 4-4-2.
Highly likely Arda will be loaned out in my opinion. He’ll be squeezed out if Mbappe really arrives, and with Endrick coming as well.
All of them maybe not but with the increasing number of games with the new CL format and the club World Cup next year there will be game time for everyone, especially as Endrick Arda and Brahim won’t have the « starter » role and will have to prove their worth. And my guess is Rodrygo will also if Mbappe joins us.
Arda and Brahim in that list lmao.
Our starting line up next season should be vini mbappe and Rodrygo. Jude Valverde and tchou/kroos with mendy rudiger eder and carvajal behind them. This should be our starting line up at the beginning of the season. We should also make more use of a b squad just like we did last 2 weekends. And Zidane use to do all the time if possible. Based on the form of the starting 11 we can switch things up with the b squad. B squad should be Brahim endrick Arda modric camavinga tchou/kroos. With fran garcia alaba new defender ? And Vazquez as b squad. Only the best will play in the starting 11. And everybody will get more then enough rest.
Arda and Endrick should be loaned to some Laliga team where they will be starters
There were times that the likes of Kaka, Beckham, Guti where even not first choice and they were way bigger. Here again the coach will choose and who wants will leave
No, but that’s just the nature of the game.
We didn’t worry about Di Maria or Ozil when buying Isco and Bale. One played a new role, the other left.
To get the team we have today, it took a lot of players coming and going.
Well some of them will leave after the next season.
In this Vini, Mbappe, Jude and Endrick will surely stay with the team. Others, it will be dependent on how much time they want and if Carlo is gonna go with 4 3 3 pr 4 4 2
The fallacy here is thinking that coaches pick formation first and then the players. The best coaches look at what they have and then pick formation/roles accordingly, not the other way around. Also, roles are way more important than formations and even then, you only touched on two possible scenarios, while there are way more options, even if not commonly used by Real (like 3-5-2, 3-4-3 etc.)
