We all love Lunin. There's not a single Madridista who doesn't but we must not be emotional when it comes to a UCL final… Courtois is simply better. Even right now.
I know I'm going to get downvoted or whatever that is called but I don't care because what I said is facts and will happen.

  7. I agree with you. If Courtois is fully fit and performing well in Laliga, he should start. You have to start your best available players and at their best, Courtois is safer than Lunin. I’m sure Lunin will get his due credit from the fans and the team even if he doesn’t start.

  11. No. Just no. Lunin earned the right to play that final, he deserves it. Even if we lose it (which I don’t hope of course) because of an error of Lunin, I won’t be mad at him. He has been big especially in UCL, and Courtois did not play a single minute in UCL this season. If Courtois plays the final, it’s pure unfair.

  12. That was a world class save – one which I think Lunin might not have been able to because Courtois has higher aerial reach and reflexes.

    I think today was a big test for Courtois and he passed with flying colors. Had Courtois still looked off his game today, Carlo probably would have gone back to Lunin for the next few games and the final. But after this game, I think Courtois will play the remaining LaLiga games and the final.

  19. I think it might be unfair for courtois to play in the final after being absent the whole year. If he screws it up, he would be blamed for it tho he just came from an injury that lasted the whole season.

    Courtois is not UCL ready it would be insanity to start him with 0 UCL or any important matches under his belt this season. Tibo would be the first one to tell you that.

  21. I’m a huge fan of Courtois but personally, I would’ve still picked Lunin for the final. However, I think at the end of the day, Courtois is also the type of person I feel who would be able to say if he feels he is actually ready and that confident.

    Performance we see in these unimportant matches isn’t enough justification, there’s a whole mindset thing as well and Carlos I believe will make the right call with all the information he’s have at his disposal.

  23. I think it should be lunin, don’t get me wrong courtois is clearly better but he can’t perform the same as he was injured and missed a lot of games. Lunin has been playing for a while and that synergy will remain on the pitch if lunin plays. Remember when Kane came back from an injury and Lucas Moura was benched. Yeah that didn’t go so well for them

  26. Listen I’m all for Lunin getting his accolades and shit but at the end of the day he is the fit keeper. Yes, Courtois has been solid since he came back, and no doubt he would do good in the final (because he’s fucking Courtois), I just feel like Lunin is the safer decision. Ultimately, they would both do well, which is why I agree with what most people said, whatever Don Carlo says goes.

  27. There is no wrong choice in terms of quality. Lunin has been very good this season and deserves the chance to play the final. Courtois is the best goalkeeper in the world when fit so it makes the choice hard. Personally I think Lunin should start the final

  28. Okay, here is my point, if it wasn’t for lunin, we would not have made it to final. So if we lose final with lunin as keeper, so be it. It’s his final. But i respect Carlo and his decision he is the coach.
