It is insane this wasn’t checked. VAR checks literally everything but not this?
We just drawing lines to fit our narratives now?
Title wasn´t lost there. Arsenal getting 1 point against Fulham is the main culprit.
Dont get me started on the Aston Villa fixtures haha
Who cares?
Incompetence.
In any other industry you would get sacked on the spot if you made a mistake like that (potential 10’s of millions in impact).
This is the problem when everyone’s mates with each other, no repercussions.
Looked offside to me surprised it was not even checked.
I actually said watching it live on my phone in an airport, that’s offsides and was confused when there was no var check. ce la vie.
Check complete. Good process.
Think someone’s reaching here by moving it on a frame. Bring it back to when he first makes contact with the ball and he’s onside.
Fucking rigged….
Pricks didn’t even bother checking.
its the fact that i wasnt even cheacked by VAR thats really weird. They spent 3min to check the most obv offsides but doesn’t even check this, in one of the most important games of the season. Pure incompetence.
Every time I come onto this sub, I’m reminded that half the people here don’t watch the actual games.
this kind of stuff is why var is pointless, if mistakes like these dont end then why bother having it at all?
Well hopefully majority of the clubs will see sense and decide to vote for VAR to be scrapped next season.
I mean, anyone can draw some lines on a picture. Without access to all the angles, images the VAR team see then tweets like that are just to give people imaginary Internet points and rile up angry fans.
Oh please. This is not official and all possible offsides are checked, even if you don’t see it on TV.
Why has the PL rejected the World Cup Technology?
Sounds about right. And I don’t even remember it being checked for that long. Even tho other teams get checked from every angle at length and then roll back to see if there is any other reason they can chalk it off for. Absolute joke. City are the pits and so are the officials
As an Arsenal, I don’t care anymore. Move on!
So, Arsenal are Champions? Is that what you’re saying?
😭😭😭 just making shit up now. They even said they checked it yesterday
Average Assna hopium copium
Just remove VAR at this point. This is far from the first time in the season that a questionable offside/pen hasn’t been checked, but this is for sure one of the single most important checks of the entire PL season. How this isn’t checked further is the reason VAR doesn’t add anything. Mistakes keep happening, games are still decided by wrong ref calls, and people are still making claims of rigged games when these shitty calls are made (all things VAR should remove, since a ref can no longer ignore obvious fouls because they “didn’t see it”).
VAR removes tempo and exitement from the game when everything has to be checked, but when the so called payoff isn’t even there, there’s litterally no reason for it to exist.
This is all to do with the camera angles. He’s onside. It was checked.
As an Arsenal fan I’d love it to be true but is there any reputed source of the information that it wasn’t checked. I’ve only seen twitter influencers share this.
Here let’s post some fuzzy ass pictures and draw some crooked lines to create my narrative gtfo.

Someone is offside by 1mm and people complain. Then someone scores a goal and people complain that they were actually offside by 1mm.
Remember when we used to talk about football and not VAR? That was nice.

I’m a gunner, and this is definitely not offside.
Most moronic sentiment is to remove VAR we need semi automated offside so these inept officials (who should be removed) have less decisions to make. VAR isn’t ruining any of the other top leagues. PGMOL is run by asshats that who refuse to acknowledge the necessity of meritocracy.
Arteta complaint already filed
I’m a gooner and it was onside.
Can’t wait until they vote to get rid of VAR. Having them draw lines is the absolute worst and rarely look correct.
If they adopt the automated, 3D offside like they used in World Cup and use in Serie A at least it wouldn’t be someone with a bias scribbling lines…
I thought level was meant to be onside. Omfg
No it wasn’t I mean I hate city making the EPL a farmers league now, but that wasn’t offside.
But like isn’t that the whole point of VAR? I find it annoying enough they have to zoom in at multiple angles to say that someone’s big toe was across the line. Offsides shouldn’t be a question at this point.
1) it was onside
2) if it wouldve been checked, it wouldve been too close to overrule
3) The push to get rid of VAR is hilarious, because giving the refs less help is surely going to somehow, magically make them suck all of a sudden. EPL refs are incompetent, improve the refs. VAR works well as weve seen at the WC, its the helmets running it in England who are the issue. Pgmol is just too much of an old boys club circlejerk to actually do anything to improve refs
4) Arsenal
Let’s replay the game, give us another chance to help Arsenal
It is for that reason that I have always advocated for the spirit of the offside law to remain in place: if it is too close to call (if the lines overlap, or if it takes longer than 90 seconds to determine), advantage is given to the attacking player, and it is considered onside (the same way “advantage to the attacking player” was in the rules before VAR came in).
Sure, it would mean people would be upset if something looked 1cm offside to their eye… but it would also be so close as to be within the margin of error and, therefore, advantage should be given to the attacking player.
This is reaching bruh…..
Doesn’t matter. Replaying the game will just give spurs the enjoyment of not letting Arsenal win the trophy again.
Why does it matter? The difference between the two teams winning the league is so tight this year, you’d have to go back and look at every VAR decision, and every refereeing decision. One marginal error isn’t the difference, it’s the entire season
Grow up
This is all very unfair on Arsenal. Prior to Spurs playing Man City, I think Arsenal should have been allowed to play 37 games so that they could have gained the number of points required to win the league.
Definitely something dodgy going on.

VAR has a margin of error. It always has (Someone even did the [maths](https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/jtir5u/var_for_offside_margin_of_error/) a few years ago to demonstrate that fact).
