Unpopular Opinion: Militao has always looked shaky even before the injury. In one match he plays like prime Maldini the other he plays like Phil Jones.
Militao is our Araujo, I still wonder what-if scenario where Rudiger started in UCL semis against City in 2023… Change my View.
Disaster class of a match from Militao, Sorloth toyed with him, that costed us to beat our record of least goals conceded in a league season, ps record was broken back in 2020 with covid liga, 25 goals conceded in La Liga season 19/20 with Zidane, and now we have conceded 26 goals.
Atleast now we know who will be the CB pairing for the final.
I like Militao and for the most part he’s solid but even before the injury he would have moments that would question if he was the best option to have as a staple defender. It’s still a bit unfair to throw him under the bus so soon after retuning, especially because after an ACL you still need another 6-8 months to return to full form, we also had our secondary team out there.
Rudiger is great and undoubtedly a staple, but I do think we need to search for another CB that doesn’t give us doubts to pair alongside him.
I do hope Eder returns to full form next season though, I remember when everyone wanted Mendy gone before this season.
Regardless, Nacho should start for the final.
I guess our interest in Leny Yoro just reignited 😀
