Sunak tells Starmer he can be ‘as cocky as he likes’ after Tory election defeats

how many more times do the public and his own MPS need to reject him before he takes the hint yeah well Mr Speaker this time last year I reminded him of uh some advice actually from his own Mentor Tony Blair who had said who had said at the time that he can be as cocky as he likes about local elections but come a general election it’s policy that counts Mr speaker now what one one year on one year on from that advice one year on from that advice what does he managed 28 billion of tax Rises 1 new business regulations 30 u-turns and a deputy leader under a police investigation

Rishi Sunak warned Sir Keir Starmer he can be “as cocky as he likes” after the local election results, but when it comes to a general election “it is policy that counts”.

Mr Sunak reminded the Labour leader of Tony Blair’s famous words during Prime Minister’s Questions on Wednesday 8 May, after Sir Keir began the clash by welcoming Natalie Elphicke and Chris Webb to the Labour benches.

Ms Elphicke has defected to Labour, hitting out at the “broken promises” of the government, while Mr Webb is the new Blackpool South MP after winning last week’s by-election.

Despite a mauling from the electorate last week, Mr Sunak remained defiant during his clash with Sir Keir.

  1. Sobering reality…Where will you spend eternity? Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28 Jesus died for you live for him, believe & repent.
