Hey folks fellow Culer here. I thought this was really interesting. City rank 9th in gate revenue and unranked in merchandise sales, but are 2nd only to Madrid in total revenue. This is according to an official UEFA report. Does anyone know where this revenue comes from?

Oil
Most likely from illegal sources.
Qatar City FC strikes again.
Probably sponsors and things like that. Or money rewards from winning trophies. They are the dominant team in the world for the past 4 years so they have to be very marketable.
Same as psg lol..

From their 115
Fans, tv-rights and sponsorship. They are the club with 4th most EPL titles. And can in few years they can become the club with 2nd most titles if they keep winning. They also have a team full of superstars which help attract sponsors. Whether the sponsorship comes from a company that have the same owner, I don’t know. But I will assume that those kind of sponsors will make of less of the pie in the future. Last but not least, wining EPL brings in much more money than winning UCL. When Laporta and Florentino Perez wants a super league, it’s because of the exact fact that money is just many times bigger in England. And they are afraid to be left out.
There is reason why Abu Dhabi bought a club in first EPL and not Spain. Simply because the prize money, tv money and sponsorship are bigger are bigger in England. Also history seems to matter less for English and international fans. English fans support that local team more than anything else.
Had they bought a club in Spain the path to sustainable finance would have been a lot longer .
The prem pulls in the most money in the world. There is a reason almost half of those teams are from the prem. The prem gets more money from sponsorships and TV deals. They also get more money for league placements.
I think they have 115 sources of revenue
By us buying gas in our cars.
Man city is becoming a serial winner who plays really attractive football. I personally watched lots of City games because I’m a big fan of pep. I have a friend who watches MC ust because of haaland ( he even bought a couple of shirts). This might be some of the reasons, and perhaps there is some shady over valuation on the Etihad sponsor deal.
Owenr money injection covered up as “sponsors”.. basically just like PSG what they do is that because the actual people behind the “company” that holds them is literally a state government, this government just registers a bunch of other “companies” and these companies sign huge sponsorship deals with the team.. this sounds illegal and I’m pretty sute it isn’t but as we know city have like 115 financial breaches so..
Sponsors, expensive merchandise, food & spirits from local restaurants, tourism money, etc

They’re one of the most successful clubs in the world in recent times and they are domestically dominating – in the most profitable league in the world. I wouldn’t put too much stock on gate revenue. In today’s world and media landscape, being talled about is enough – especially if you’re globally relevant, no matter how many people support the club locally) to be of value to sponsors and City get talked about a lot – and often for the “right” reasons (meaning their achievements, play style and overall quality of their squad). They also have plenty of players that are *highly* marketable. Being owned by a state also helps, obviously, but money generated through illicit means is of secondary importance to their income at this point, I’d say. It got them where they are to a degree, but they have been so successful in recent years that it probably wouldn’t matter either way anymore.
