  1. A 30 pt deduction simply means someone else gets hardware for one year. It would have meant finishing 6th this year. City should absolutely take that.

  2. 30 point deduction of what seasons? Strip their titles or not?

  3. If they’re allowed to keep titles and stay in the league, it’s just the cost of doing business

Hell, going to the Championship for a year would also just be the cost of doing business.

  4. > It is claimed that the likelihood of City being stripped of major honours is “remote”, regardless of any FFP guilt on their part, with those representing the club in the present not about to be punished for the actions of those in the past

I feel like stripping them of past titles punishes the people of the past more than it does the current folks, actually

  5. If they aren’t losing titles and trophies once convicted, then it was worth it for them and a template for future plastic oil clubs.

  6. 30 points doesn’t really do anything for a club like city. That’s just Europa or conference league for them. Idk how you punish them but 30 points isn’t really that bad for a top club

  7. 45 point deduction and a 3 year transfer ban would be a good place to start

  8. I vote for 30pts per charge, or 3450 total.

W.e points they accumulate per season chips away at the total, but guarantees they finish with consecutive relegations out of the football league.

If they were to accumulate 90 pts per season, it would take them approx 39 years to finally be actually accumulating points again.

  9. 30 points is nothing compared to docking 10 points from everton and 4 from Nottingham for less than 5 charges
Considering Man City’s 115 charges, if proven guilty then:

    1. Transfer ban of 5 years
    2. 50-point deduction next season
    3. Luton Town stays in the Prem and Man city gets relegated to Championship (50 point deduction applies in championship)

Edit : Who am I kidding, this is just wishful thinking. They’ll just get settlement with money 😂

  10. Point deduction? They should have titles stripped! How many times did they win by just a point or two? All the while, they had an extra 200 million to work with over second.

  11. > 30pt deduction

Oooh, Are we at the price anchoring stage, because for me, a simple 30 point deduction is far to low.

    Counter offer :-

    – Relegation to the bottom tier
    – Transfer ban.
    – 23 points deduction per season, for 5 seasons. That would equate to 115 points total deduction, one per infraction.

Seems fair, and a precedent must be set.

  12. Oh wow, a season in the Europa League, what a cutting punishment for making a mockery of the competition for over a decade.

  13. They won’t be stripped because it will cause havoc for teams that finished outside of European qualifying. 34-40 point deduction would mean that they would play for nothing. Not going to happen.

Look at Rangers to see what should happen. I’m not going to say it, but a good Wrexham v Man City rivalry would be a good one to watch. This would also test the Guardiola “I’m stayng!” yell. He’s already half way out the door from his winning acceptance speech a few days ago.

115 charges and Everton and Notts Forest get pelters before these guys. Interesting.

  14. Relegated to league two, transfer ban, Pep has to go.

    That should be the punishment

  15. They make English football too much money to face any sanctions. Everton/Nottingham Forest/Other offending clubs were all expendable. City bring in so much eyes on English football all over the world, football in this country would lose so much foreign interest and ultimately revenue if City were punished in any way. It’s why no one has done anything, it should not take this long. Pl are complicit in this, they’re doing everything they can to ignore it I’m convinced

  16. Any points deduction, including a 90 point reduction is a joke of a punishment for the breaches they’ve been accused of.

Expulsion from the league structure and a *mandated* sale to a reasonable third party (ala the forced abramohich sale) and a defacto ban on the state of UAE owning any English club in perpetuity would be a fitting punishment. Obviously that will never happen because the UAE is a *key partner* of the British oligarchy but we can still lay out the reasonable sanctions the above the law class should be subject to.
