Honestly I would love this. Bit of a coup for Bayern if they manage to get a man(ager) of his calibre.

  1. It’s a poisoned chalice. Not even Pep’s stint there is looked upon as a complete success.

A young up and coming manager like Kompany should avoid this job, unless he is confident that City would still take him even if his stint in Munich disappoints.

  2. I would hope he would have more integrity than this… got Burnley promoted (yay) then relegated (boo) and then considers leaving them as he found them. He would do better to get them promoted again and then leave.

  3. Oh come on, it’s not a coup if they get Kompany – and I reckon he’ll even do alright there.

  4. If he does well there next season, he can replace Pep if he leaves. That would be the ideal scenario for me

  5. If he takes this job, then he’s a less wise man than I give him credit for.

  6. I’ve wanted Vinny to go to Germany for a bit…but I’ve wanted him to go a club in the 4-9th place area. Adapt his side to the tactics, play a bit of European football and see what happens.

Not Bayern though, not yet. Leave that for ten Hag

  7. This will be a good step up. A few titles in a farmers league and then come back to City for a real challenge.

  8. I’m genuinely happy for him. That’s a monster step up, and I’ll never not root for Vinnie’s personal success (barring when it directly involves city obviously).

Even if it didn’t go great, Bayern on the resume would be big for the rest of his management career.

I also think it actually could go pretty well. Pep ball with Bayern would look a whole lot different than Pep ball with Burnley in the PL.

    Do your thing, captain.

  9. I don’t want to say this but tbh no one could succeed pep the way we all want but…alright hope it goes well for him so that something can be worked out in the future
