Remember when AMC, a movie theater company, used their dwindling funds to [buy a significant stake in a gold and silver mining company](https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2022/03/15/theater-chain-amc-uses-funds-raised-during-meme-craze-to-buy-a-gold-miner.html)?
Turns out executives are no smarter than a teenager daytrading on Robinhood.
This article is alot less bleak for theaters than I thought it’d be. Alot of it was about how other companies and studios are disappointed they’re efforts to bankrupt the company were in vain. Lol they tried to undermine efforts with wrong examples like “selling popcorn in shopping malls”
Obviously that sounds worse than the accurate description of selling to Walmart, Amazon and expanding to grocery stores nationwide
Im so damn tired of hearing about taylor swift. I wish there was some way to block everything related to her reaching my phone.
They need to bring back porn theaters with an introduction by hologram Paul Reubens
Please God don’t take AMC from me it’s all I have
They’ll end up in Ch 11 and reduce their theaters by 50% or dilute the common shareholders into oblivion by exchanging shares for the $4.5 billion debt. Either way, the stock price will get annihilated (further). It’s only a matter of when.
It’s a hit piece aimed at the meme stock retail investors. You’re going to see a lot more with meme stocks back in the up and up again.
