Amid all the woes of homelessness, exorbitant rents, asylum seekers consigned to tents and climate damage, this was a moment to relish being Irish
Edit: Good to see The Irish Times giving an opinion piece that states the bleeding obvious, without trolling.. please see my post history for why I’m saying that.
Yes it’s paywalled, but it’s a good opinion piece. There’s ways around that..

Well…we did for decades, I am still positively surprised that finally something happened. I guess the Israeli government is too, just not positively……
Feel like the tide is really turning against Israel, and not just in Ireland. It’s been an awful week for them.
Stay out of Middle Eastern conflicts.
I think we should stop patting ourselves on the back. Recognising Palestine is a great thing but we have far more important things to be worrying about. Housing, health and climate change all come to mind.
Just ask Jack Lynch
“stand idly by” ? You mean like we’re doing with Russia/Ukraine, stop patting yourselves on the back and send those anti-tank weapons to Ukraine. They’re literally about to pass their expiry date.
This “we’re proud to be neutral” schtick is cringe worthy, when our MEPs are disproportionately pro RussianÂ
