I never understood how the Spaniards do this. Please enlighten me Juan.
Do you “work” half a day, have a 3h break and return to “work”? What do you do if you have a long drive to “work”? Are you just away from your home from early morning to late evening?

I was in Spain with my wife a couple of years back and it was her first time there since she was a child. We arrived just after lunch time and went for a walk in the small village we were. She was absolutely flabbergasted that everything was closed and almost nobody was to be seen. “I didn’t know siësta was really a thing!”
To be fair, she adapted within two days and we ended up staying there for three weeks.
Same in Italy, everything closes from 12:30 to 16:00, it becomes a ghost town, you don’t hear anything in the streets anymore
Siesta is real 💀
Dutch as ever is a highly unserious language
