Finland prepares for a potential Russian threat in a completely different way than southern neighbours – The Baltics want to stop the aggressor at the border immediately. Finland believes in mobile warfare.

Smart! If we can learn anything from Ukraine, it’s that that Russians rely heavily on massive artillery barrages. That’s useless if you keep moving.
Articles like this are really depressing.
Imagine the collective sigh of relief is eveyone woke up one day and Russia just … didn’t exist anymore? Like its entire landmass was just gone.
small countries with their back to the sea and little to no defensive depth and at risk to be isolated from europe if the suwalki corridor believe in border defense while a big country with much more defensive depth and harder to sever from Europe belives in mobile warfare.
Absolutely no surprises there.
How in the world are the baltic countries supposed to fight otherwise? Is this a translation error, or is the title as stupid as it sounds?
Mmmm strong allies the 🇫🇮 you love to see it 💪Â
I mean, Finland has a lot of almost empty land. The baltic states are already small.
Finland has much more strategic depth, it makes sense to let the Russians enter into prepared kill zones.
Yeah because the Baltics don’t have much room to be “mobile” now do they?? Estonia don’t even have 200kms until they are pushed out into the Baltic Sea ffs… Who comes up with these “brilliant” analyses?
The thing is that Finland has plenty of sparcely inhabited territory, while Baltics have important poppulated cities near border with Russia/Belarus. Especially Villnius – the capital of Lithuania. We all know what happened to Mariupol and the gennocide in occupied territories. These things makes people reevaluate. Also Suwalki corridor is just 100 km wide and that can cut Baltics completely off from allies.
