It is awkward being a striker playing up front when you are up against good teams especially with the way Pep plays.
I think that is the problem when going into a very strong possession based team. I think it is not his fault why he appears to not show up in big games.
Watkins on the other hand knows how to make chances because of his experience at Villa which does not dominate possessions as much as City does.
Anyone saying this is underwhelming is coping hard.

Yeah 38 in 44 will be the best season ever in a great striker’s career. The fact that 38 in 44 is seen as underwhelming for Haaland just shows how damn good he is, he is already being placed in the same stratosphere as some of the all time greats.
Good on him for responding in such a way but he really doesn’t have to answer to such absolute idiots.
Goal record is daft but he is a flat track bully
He ain’t getting criticism cuz of the goal record. He was subpar in majority of big games. Instead of 5 against likes of Luton, if he scored few goals against likes of Real Madrid, Pool and Arsenal he would have been praised for it.
I like Haaland and as someone who watched him at Dortmund I believe he’s more than just goals in a system that suits him. But this season despite all his goals is probably the worst I have seen him play in the last few years.
