  1. Obviously I’m only reading but it seems he’s not really that bothered, he’s just used to winning so much lol.

As he says they’ll come back again next season like they always do, probably win this cup along with at least one other trophy.

  2. Ake and Stones are huge mistakes for Pep. Also Kovacic before Doku 🤦

  3. I know they were technically better in the second half, but I wouldn’t say they were GOOD. Doku was really the only highlight, and he only scored on a goal that Onana really should have saved.

  4. I don’t think so. I think they went in with a plan yet they underestimated United. I was not expecting this performance from them. They played well. 3 attempts in 10 minutes went in the net. City’s high line was not ready for a fast counter attack move by United

Pep’s mistake was not having a plan b tonight

  5. Yes, getting well beaten by the team with the better tactics is what a tactical mistake is. You twat.

  6. I think city went in thinking it was going to be an easy game. Too big headed and got slapped.. like pep’s head.

  7. They pulled Silva and Foden too further back because they were afraid of United’s transition. Second half they were better and had more control, but it was tough already at the end.

  8. I can’t believe Ortega, an experienced goalkeeper, is poor in communication

  9. If you play a high line like that, you have to commit. The players have to be in sync with one another and when the ball is about to be hit over the top the players have to all be facing the right direction, all side on, ready to run if its wrong.

It became a bit of a meme at times in villa games that you’d see the back four completely locked in doing the same same body shape all in a line

If you do it the way city did today, its not playing a high line, its just being high up the pitch.

  10. We were too silly , congrats to United though they outplayed City.

  11. Pep losing on purpose so the Sheiks don’t hold him hostage when he doesn’t want to extend next year

  12. He only has one tactic, obviously it’s been shown to be superior over the course of a league campaign however though

  13. I never felt safe without Dias. Wasn’t against Kova starting but there was no need for Ake and Josko to push up

  14. While i get that the “lol City” narrative is what people have been desperate to see, i thinks its doing a major disservice to ETH and ManU.

ManU had a very good game plan of absolutely packing the MoF, congesting passing lanes and pretty much surrendering the wide areas in order to keep the compact centre intact. It was a really good approach and should get a lot more praise.

Also, and ive been saying this like 2 weeks into the season, but City looked like a team thats running purely on mentality. Last season with the treble meant that they went far in every competition. This year they went far again and had the supercup and club world cup in top of that. Point being thats a lot of games and a very heavy load, and all year City has looked exhausted. Even today they just seemed like the last 2 or 3% that usually allows them to pull a win out of their asses, just wasnt there.

I genuinely think this was the most vulnerable City in Pep’s tenure. I also expect them to re-tool the team and bring in some much needed depth to better spread out the game load.

  15. Stones and Ake should not have started. Walker is so crap. Sell Walker. Sell Stones. Sell Bernardo

  16. How the fuck can he blame himself when it’s clear that the players didn’t show up… fucking protective for fuck

  17. The Tactic was Doku or bust 2nd half.
    Too predictable.

We didn’t want it bad enough.

Not good enough, can’t win an FA Cup when your carrying hangovers.

  18. United loaded the midfield and sacrificed the wings and forward. Doku could’ve come in sooner and cause more havoc. Keeper mistakes canceled out. One brilliant pass by Bruno was the difference

  19. Tactically throw the game and quieten the narrative about getting away with cheating for all these years before a verdict and punishment is reached.

  20. To many fans declaring well bounce back and clean up next season – as a voice of reason I doubt it.

Will be a tough season, the squad is ageing in key areas eg KDB (32) Walker (33) Bernardo likely to be off etc and we’ve obviously not been the same team this year.

It’s been struggle to play our flowing fast style of Pep Football.

It could be a year of transition again, as well as Pep’s last season 🤔

We’ve had an amazing run, but the well is running dry imo

  21. Imagine being tactically outdone by a manager who the British media often claim to have “no tactic”

  22. Taking De Bruyne off at 2-0 and having Stones play in that role was a mistake.

  23. No, you were tactically outclassed today, because everything manchester united did today was on point. From defense to the attack.

  24. Threads like this prove to me people don’t care about City and Pep 🙏🙏
