Iran’s President Raisi confirmed dead in helicopter crash | DW News

we start with breaking news Iranian State media say president Ibrahim Ari the country’s foreign minister and several others have been found dead at the site of a helicopter crash these are the first images we are getting off the site captured by a drone and recorded from a screen by Rescuers teams searched for hours in bad weather and the wreckage was eventually found in the mountains in Iran’s east aaban region officials say the aircraft cracked crashed into a mountain peak nilaa gami from the Ws Persian service joins me now NFA what more do we know about the circumstances of this crash 18 hours after the crash in several hours of a rescue operation finally State media confirmed the death of ibraim RI Amir Abdullah and all others on board the helicopter uh crashed on a mountain in heavy fog in the province of East aeran and according to the state media the helicopter was almost entirely uh destroyed and bodies have been completely burned and unrecognizable now it’s said that uh the bodies are being transferred to the city of tabes and the Search is Over Now how much of a shock is this to Iran how have people been reacting for the camp of regime support um it’s a it’s a shock they have announced the death of Ry and others martyrdom in the way of serving the people uh all people on board were among high ranking officials including East aaban provinces and foreign minister Amir Abdullah he was most hatred for denying killing of protesters in Iran in protests after the death of Gina Masa amini so for many this was such a good news now uh what happens next so under article 100 31 of Iran’s Constitution first uh vice president Muhammad M will temporarily assume race his duties uh with the Supreme leaders approval uh and according to the law a council must organize a new presidential election within 50 days in my opinion this won’t be a major challenge for the regime won’t affect the Islamic Republic’s foreign or domestic politics uh let’s not forget that uh the Strategic decisions are set by the Supreme Leader and the irgc not the president but of course they will use this as an opportunity in any possible way to implement more pressure on the society and establishing a security atmosphere all over the country now REI was known as a Hardline as some even call him the Butcher of Iran tell us a bit more about him yeah Ry was a hatred face among many Iranians as you already mentioned he was known as the hangman and Butcher of Teran for his role in execution of political prisoners in the late 80s uh as a founding member of persecution committee that’s why many Iranians are expressing their happiness it’s not surprising that many um social media users write funny tweets and post memes about the incident some family members of the victims of recent protest or the ones who lost an eye or injured posting their videos celebrating the death of RI and Amir abdah Yan a group of Iranian for example gathered in front of the Iranian Embassy in London to celebrate um and I saw uh some videos of fireworks in different locations of Iran and that’s why Iranian Ministry of justice and the police intelligence organizations warned citizens about what they share on social media n there from DW’s Persian service thank you very much Nea thank you

This is some freaky news to me personally lol not because a horrible leader is dead but the fact that I was literally having these deep thoughts before about how a good place to start cleansing evil is Iran's leadership and North Korea's leadership. Literally two days after that thought we get the Heli crash incident and then confirmation of his death.
