Bayern have not communicated a clear indication to Kimmich that they want to extend. Eberl has not told clearly: ‘We want to extend with you after the Euros’ – That’s why the player has somewhat been ‘left hanging’. Rumours about Madrid are off the mark. Bayern is still his first point of contact

  1. I dont trust this report 1 bit, simple reason, Jo represents himself and he for sure didnt talk to Kerry about that.

  2. We need more players like Kimmich.

He may not be the best tactical fit at midfield, but he’s world class at RB still and he lives and dies for this club.

  3. can we please always put the source in the post title when it comes to these rumors? If I believe / trust such a news heavily depends on who exactly said it.

  4. Didn’t he wanna wait until after the Euros anyway? So nobody has to talk to him right now…

  5. Kerry Hau and the other guys at Sky Germany have often little to no information. Very often they describe the current situation in a very dramatic fashion and add one or two things completely out of the air to stay relevant and get reactions and clicks.

  6. This doesn’t even make any sense. “We want to extend you after the euros” and “left hanging” doesn’t add up. They pretty clearly communicated they are interested in extending, but want to wait until after Euros, so not sure how he’s left hanging.

  7. Would be interesting to see where he goes. He has nothing to gain by staying here. He’s won everything with Bayern.

Bayern probably feel like it’s time for fresh blood and a new perspective too.

  8. I know this is likely to be untrue but I still don’t understand why they did not settle his contract in advance. They knew his contract was ending in 2025, they knew the EUROs took place in 2024, they knew he represented himself, why did they wait so long to begin talks with him? I just think for a long time now things have been running unprofessionally when it comes to contract extensions. I just believe if talks began much earlier for all players, there’d also be a lot more room and TIME for both parties to compromise and reach fruitful conclusions.
