Hopefully the mods will allow this. I screenshot this from Madrid's sub and I couldn't get over how genius their business model is. It really puts the recent success gap between us and them into perspective. Comparing these transfers to ours:

              Bought Sold

Coutinho: 135 20

Dembélé: 105 50

Griezmann: 120 20

Alves: 32 0

Neymar: 65 222

Messi: 0 0

Villa: 40 2

Sanchez: 26 42

Fdj: 86

Arthur: 31 80

Fabregas: 34 33

Lewandowski: 45

Torres: 55

Raphinha: 58

Christensen: 0

Alonso: 0

  1. We cling on to players for way too long. We also convince them to stay by overpaying by a huge margin. There are many players willing to come here, sacrificing bigger contract offers. The city of Barcelona is also an incredible incentive for players. We need to learn to cut ties when players ask for absurd wage hikes or when we get insane offers for our players.

  2. Take away the disastrous signings of Dembele, Coutinho and Griezman and we didn’t do that poorly

  3. Those Arthur numbers are misleading; keeping in mind the Pjanic transaction that we had to do.

And you really need the wages to put things in perspective.

  4. What about Hazard, Jovic, Rodriguez, or Kaka. You kinda cherrypicked our failures and ignored theirs.
