Ukraine President Zelenskyy and Philippine President Marcos speak in Malacañang

for [Music] the thank you very much [Music] [Music] boys e uh we thank you very much uh we are very happy uh to welcome you president seninsky uh to the Philippines and I’m very happy that uh uh despite what I know is a very tight travel schedule uh for both of us we were unable to find the time while we were both in Singapore but I’m happy that uh we are very uh honored that you found the time to pass by with the Phil pass by the Philippines I know that uh the crisis in your country has uh occupied all of your attention and all of your time and uh it is it is a great pleasure to to meet with you uh to discuss some of the issues that are common to our two countries and uh hopefully uh find ways forward uh for both of us together and uh but once again uh uh I I wish it were under better circumstances but uh I am happy that uh you are able to come and visit with us Mr President thank you so much Mr President your team we are very happy to be first time in Philippines I I’m sure not not last thank you for this invitation and we are very thankful to be in your country and uh which supports Ukraine our torial integrity and sovereignty thank you so much of your big war and clear position about us about this Russian occupation of our territories and thank you on your support on the um in un nations with your resolutions um Mr President I’m happy to hear today from you that you participate our B steps steps to to the peace that’s real thing what really want our people just to bring peace to our homes to yes and thank you for participation of Peace Summit it’s very strong signal uh like I said we have for today uh more than 100 countries I think it’s will be maybe not the last again but first very strong step on the way to to p and I’m also very happy that this year we will open Embassy in Manila that’s very good decision that’s certainly very uh good news because we would uh very much like to continue uh to help in any way that the Philippines can through the multilateral the United Nations and even through other other uh uh agencies such as the EU such as uh um uh the UN and so we will continue to to uh do all that we can to promote peace and to to bring to bring an end to the fighting and to come to a political I [Music] know way

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s trip to Manila follows his surprise appearance at a defense forum in Singapore, where he rallied Asia-Pacific nations to support his peace summit on June 15, and accused Russia and China of trying to undermine the upcoming event.
