NATO kicks off annual military drills in shadow of Russia’s war

on the French Coast veterans and their families are preparing to Mark 80 years since the pivotal invasion of Normandy on June 6th at the same time NATO the military Alliance created in the shadow of World War II kicked off its annual military exercises in the Baltic Sea it’s an expansive and Multinational effort 19 countries 9,000 personnel with more than 50 ships and 85 aircraft Sweden has participated before but this will be the first time the country takes part as a full-fledged NATO m M Charles cchan joins me now he’s a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations and a professor of international Affairs at Georgetown University Charles good to be with you again the US and NATO gave Ukraine the go-ahead to strike Russian territory near K with Western made weapons how significant a move was that either militar well both militarily and symbolically well I think militarily it was an important step forward mainly because the Russians were hitting car in areas in Northern Ukraine from safe havens across the border in Russia the ukrainians had some artillery some drones some other items that they could use to hit Russian Targets in Russian territory but by telling the ukrainians that they can use longer range American German French uh kinds of weapons they’ basically pushing the UK the Russians further away from the border and it’s a sign that incrementally month by month the United States its allies are getting more comfortable moving up the ladder of escalation I think Biden has been right to be prudent and to move carefully he’s not said you can hit anywhere in Russia he’s said only a small number of targets across the border I think it’s an important step forward so you mentioned uh Vladimir Putin he used statements from NATO leaders or lead leaders of NATO countries as a pretext of his recent testing of tactical nuclear weapons how does the alliance have to calibrate um both avoiding conflict with respect to those Western missiles being used on Russian territory and also with this exercise going on do they is Putin going to do what he’s going to do or do they have to take extra measures to to risk giving him a pretext well listen there’s a there’s a major war going on in a central part of Europe and were NATO and Russia to find themselves at War the consequences could be catastrophic two nuclear armed blocks going against each other and as a consequence the US has taken the lead in exercising restraint the Russians have gone out of their way not to provoke that wider War they have not hit Targets in NATO territory but you know there this is a a tense moment as you as you noted this is a major exercise occurring in the Baltic region very close to Russian territory 90 uh uh uh uh 9,000 Personnel 50 ships lots of aircraft Putin invaded Ukraine in part because he wanted to roll back the post Cold War order he’s getting the opposite a bigger NATO a reinforcement of NATO’s Eastern flank so things have not gone well for Putin but he is also trying to use nuclear saber rattling to say don’t push me too far you never know where this war could go and I don’t know what the French term for saber rattling is but French president macron has suggested NATO be prepared to put troops in Ukraine at some point is what how do you view that is he alone in that is that a is that mcon macron’s um kind of Bluster how do you how do you read that that talk I would say that macron’s a bit over his skis here which tends to do he he likes to say things that that get a rise out of everybody I think the the red line for the United States from the beginning has been no American boots on the ground we are not going to war with Russia over Ukraine if the the French were to proceed with or without other NATO allies I’m guessing that those troops would be far from the front line they would be in a supporting role but it would put French NATO troops In Harm’s Way were they to be hit it would not automatically invoke NATO’s Collective defense Provisions but it would be a big step forward to put boots on the ground my guess is we’re not going to see it anytime soon Charles cchan with the Council on Foreign Relations thanks again Charles

  1. Biden doing stupid things again. Trying to sneak our troops to the front line bc he’s too afraid of going over there and act diplomatic!

  2. Here are some things Jesus Christ said of Himself.

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” John 14:6

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

"Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son." John 3:18

Jesus asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”

They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. Matthew 16:13-17

Skeptics said for centuries, said "The bible we have now has been corrupted through the centuries.". In 1947 the Dead Sea Scrolls were found and proved otherwise. They said, "There's no way Israel can become a nation again as God promised in preparation for the end times.". Israel became a nation again in 1948.

All this being said, it does require faith to believe. Hebrews 11:6 tells us, "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." Also John 20:27-29 states, "Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.” Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!” Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Don't be deceived, Jesus is the Son of God and the only way of being saved from God's judgement for our sin. Christ consciousness won't save you. Believing Jesus was an ascended master, a prophet or a good teacher won't save you. Romans 10:9 tells us how to be saved, "if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved". Trust in Him, He shed his blood and gave His perfect life for you. Call on Him, He loves you, and He hears you.

  3. The Ukraine war is going on because of Biden and his criminal family and friends. Only President Trump can save Ukraine from Russia. Pray for President Trump to win for the third time is a row in November.

  4. Macron is not “over his boots” or whatever silly thing the commentator said. Although I respect the guy’s opinion, the reason Europeans hate us Americans is because we like to speak for the world. Macron knows France is closer to Russia than the US. Putin’s boots are literally on the necks of Europeans. Macron is right to want France and NATO at military readiness for Hitler 2.0. If Biden is adamant about American soldiers not being involved in the soon-to-be World War III, then social media needs to regulated to remove all the fake accounts of foreign state players spreading their facist propaganda.

  5. HEADLINE: Biden warns he is 'not prepared to support the NATO-isation of Ukraine' in major blow to Zelensky

Biden ruled out Ukraine joining Nato following ceasefire with Russia
Says Ukraine would have to rely on West to fend off second Russian offensive

QUOTE: Joe Biden has opposed Ukraine's Nato membership in the event of a peace deal with Russia, which has come as a major blow to Volodymyr Zelensky.

This comes after it was reported last month that Russian leader Vladimir Putin was ready to 'freeze the war' in Ukraine if a negotiated ceasefire that recognises the current battlefield lines can be agreed.

However, ahead of Nato's annual summit, which is set to take place on July 9, the US president said that peace 'doesn't mean Nato,' as the alliance's top diplomats met in Prague.

'It means we have a relationship with them like we do with other countries, where we supply weapons so they can defend themselves in the future,' he added.

President of Ukraine Zelensky had sought for Ukraine to enter Nato in the event of a ceasefire, arguing that Putin is likely to stage another invasion. (…)

Ukraine has more right to join NATO than Turkey, a fundamentalist Islamic nation with extreme civil rights issues and anti-democratic values. Turkey should not be a member of the EU or of NATO.

Ukraine should be admitted to membership in both the EU and NATO, as a southern bulwark against more encroachment by Russia.

  6. Russia special operation achied iys goal
    1-Stopped ukraine nato membership
2-protected Rusiians in east ukraine who were mascared for ten years by azov army whoch was trained and armed by arrogant nato
3-stopped arrogant usa longtime dream to dismantle Russia black sea fleet in Crimea and establish military bases to control black sea and black Russia access to medtrenian sea

  7. Yeah, I’m getting real WWIII vibes today after hearing about US weapons being used in Russia. Who had 6/6 on the bingo card?? 😮… That’s a little eery

  8. Would be nice to get a week off for everyone before they decide to nuke I feel like everyday I work now is such a waste of time when you know nuclear war is about to really start
