  1. As long as modric isn’t saying anything I won’t believe anyone. He is an absolute legend and he always was truthful to us and the team so if he says a few weeks ago that he wants to stay I believe him

  2. I also tend to extend my contract with my employer even though I could’ve left immediately with no strings attached when I am not happy at work

  3. In the article, it sounds like Modric **was** “not happy” with his role. With Kroos gone, he’s all but guaranteed a significantly larger role, and he knows that. He’ll start alongside Tchouameni + Valverde + Bellingham, and probably be subbed out in the 68th minute for Camavinga or Guler depending on the score.

  4. Yeah sure, that’s why he renewed. Hate that type of ESPN-like article.

  5. I can understand he’s not as happy as he would hope. He went from starting every game as a core player for over a decade to a rotational veteran.
But he’s as happy as the situation will allow, that’s why he renewed. He won’t be happier elsewhere and he realizes that. I do empathize with Luka, time comes for us all and it can be tough.

  6. The reporter also is based in Barcelona, if that gives you any context for the headline…”

  7. Modric has every right to voice his concerns, true legend
