Terranuova Traiana wins the Italian Eccellenza play-off finals 4-2 (3-1 away and 1-1 at home) against Giulianova and are promoted to Serie D!

1. In 2019, the club managed to win their group in Promozione Toscana and gained promotion to Eccellenza Toscana for the first time. In 2022, after just three years of competing there, they managed to finish second in their group, and won the regional play-offs against Cuoiopelli and Lastrigiana to advance to the national play-offs. They then defeated Atletico Ascoli and Colorno to rise, for the first time ever in the club’s history, to Serie D. However, they relegated back after just one season there, after losing the play-out match against Grosseto. However, in their first season back in the Tuscany regional league, they managed to clinch a ticket to the national promotion play-offs to Serie D again, after again coming in second on the table and defeating Signa in the regional play-offs. Once again, having to slay two equally high-performing—in their respective regional leagues—enemies standing in their path in order to promote, they charged in again fearlessly and did what was promised—after defeating W3 Maccarese from Lazio and Giulianova from Abruzzo, they managed a miraculous instant return to Serie D, no less miraculous at all from their historic promotion two years ago. Hopefully this time, they can succeed in entrenching themselves there and have a longer-lasting adventure (but if they can instantly promote again to Serie C, that’s fine with me too)!
