Gundogan: “You must have the freedom to let the opponent keep the ball without panicking. I think one of the best examples of this is Real Madrid. When they defend with 10 men around their penalty area, they wait patiently for their moment and when they get the ball, they take advantage ruthlessly.”

  1. Spanish newspaper tmr: Araujo and cancelo catching strays in new gundo interview.

  2. and he is so right! What’s the point of having possession if we are innefective with the ball. Barcelona struggles SO MUCH when they lose the ball, it’s like they all panic and have no clue on what to do. Which resembles all these years we have had problem with defense.

It is quite different in the past, because we were able to create unbelievable opportunities from anywhere with the class players we were lucky to have. Football changes, and so does our players, this mindset of “barcas adn football” is dooming us to big hole tbh.

  3. Agreed, the only difference is that if Barca ever defended like Madrid did against City, the players, board and manager would get whistled during the game and slaughtered post-game. Madrid does not have this double pressure of winning AND playing well, because Madrid fans only care about the final result irrespective of how it’s earned.
