Javier Tebas Highlights Barcelona’s Financial Improvements

Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, stated that Barcelona is now in a better position to comply with financial regulations and sign players, thanks to significant reductions in their salary expenses. Speaking at the Sports Summit Mexico 2024, Tebas noted that Barcelona’s wage bill has decreased by €250 million over the past three years, from €650 million to €400 million. This reduction has brought Barcelona’s spending in line with Real Madrid’s. Tebas mentioned, “This year, of all the past years, is the easiest for them. Barcelona knows what it needs to do to sign players, understands financial fair play, and manages it well.
