my job in Parliament will be as it’s always been to deal with the individual problems that many of our people face but to speak up to speak up where necessary in criticism in order to bring about the social changes that this country needs and my constituency needs and I’m humbled and proud and very grateful to the people of Islington North who I’ve represented for so long and have taught me so much I owe my life and my learning and my ability ities entirely to the people of isington North this Victory is a dedication to them and steadfastness in the face of opposition steadfastness in the face of abuse we have shown what Kinder gentler more sensible more inclusive politics can bring about I couldn’t be more proud of my constituency than I am tonight I’m proud of our team that brought this result thank you very much Islington North for the result that we’ve achieved tonight thank you

  1. I just love him. A principled and decent human being who is never willing to compromise. I wish I lived in Islington North 😂

  2. I am delighted that such a splendid candidate, slandered by Starmer’s Labour Party, won this seat. He has always been a person of integrity not like those who falsely accused him of anti semitism.

  3. Its very interesting that human beings will continue holding onto something even when it has proved hopeless over and over again.

  4. Tom Bower's book ~

“Jeremy Corbyn – dangerous hero” is an interesting read, while the implications are terrifying.

Abbotapotamus features in early pages as one of Jezza’s girlfriends; second-rate taste . . . ?

  5. The Green party candiadte behind him looked so impressed by him as she looking into her role-model or something, but why risking him losing with the sizeable share the green got!!
Also, Islington North is so hard-left!! more that 90% of voters voted for left and left-leaning candidates!!

  6. One of the most significant results of the general election was former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn’s victory as an independent candidate.

After the effort Starmer went to to rid Labour of the ‘left’ in Labour to supposedly clean up and change the Labour Party, Corbyn’s victory defines everything that’s wrong about ‘changed’ Labour’s new government even on its outset.

I sincerely hope Corbyn’s continued presence on the opposition benches, albeit as an ‘independent’ MP will cause as much havoc as possible for Starmer’s right wing Labour agenda for growth which will never work anyway.

  7. Thank you NewGuardian, for posting this.
Now – will you please print your retraction of your 'Why Labour is antisemitic' articles that you ran since the sklander was invented in 2018?
Or is the Forde Report and months of NewGuardian writers saying "Israel is doing a bad thing;' not 'Official' enough for you?

  8. Take a look at the bloke in the red rosette behind Corbyn.
That man has absolutely NO interest in the call for honesty, decency and community. He's just silently editing this entire speech out of his head as he concentrates on his bank balance or whatever his 'Happy Place' is.
THAT could have been MP for Islington North, – one more strategic pin in the control of the Stabour* Party.

We need a party that represents the people and the interewsts of the country – NOT one which impliments the agenda of thei same Finance as has been running the Toruies for 44 years and now owns the private corporation called 'Reform' (look it up. ALWAYS check where the money comes from. It always tells you what an organisation is for).
Corbyn stands against that (largely US) cortporate-backed takeover of the UK (and e3lsewhere). That's why he had to be stopped.

*THe Labour party is something else entirely. It's spirit lives on in the labour MP's ejected from the Party.
