Marc Cucurella on tough times at Chelsea: Fans judged me & some other team-mates by the price Chelsea paid for us, which has nothing to do with me! If that money had gone straight into my pocket maybe that would have been fair. People expect that, with certain price tags, you need to be a machine.”

  1. I mean as much as I’d like to banter Chelsea fans you and your teamates chose to take the step up to a bigger club and haven’t delivered, Chelsea fans are completely correct to criticise you and if you can’t handle it you should of stayed at Brighton.

  2. Same is true for everyone. Havertz was slated and voted the worst transfer of the summer before he barely kicked a ball for Arsenal. Being memed over some bullshit mls skills challenge.

Also, Cucarella was objectivley terrible for about 18 months. Improved slightly over the last few months but he was diabolical at times. That game against Madrid when Lampard came back is one of the most hilarious displays of defending seen. Headless chickens would be jealous of the lack of head he had.

  3. The increasing amount of fullbacks, both right and left, lacking in defensive ability in modern football is astounding. For some reason it’s been allowed.

  4. People judged his performances which were consistently poor at the time. Fair play if he’s made a permanent turnaround but let’s not revise history.

  5. People judge anyone coming in by their performance and the fact that to bring someone in to the club means that an academy player with years of commitment to the club must leave. It is not unreasonable for people to expect more from an expensive player, if they can’t deliver value for money then they shouldn’t have signed, or maybe they should have insisted of being paid based on their performance.

  6. That’s what I always say. This transfer money is not going to their pocket. I hate that people label players as the $100 million dollar man 😂 silly business

  7. I find Cucurella really unlikable, not sure why, just something about him.

  8. Well, he’s been mostly shit.

Edit: you cheeky fucker, commenting and blocking LOL

  9. He was shite, that’s what they judged him on. Playing better now does not detract from the shiteness that came before

  10. Taking the fans for idiots here. He’s been a liability at Chelsea.

  11. His performances for Chelsea have been underwhelming. But everyone knows there’s a player in there.

  12. Did people expect you to be a machine or a fantastic consistent player

my team dodged a bullet. and did equally good by selling sterling.

  13. I mean of course he was expensive, he is a football and handball player in one person

  14. Team-mates, hmm that seems a little loose if he actually said that, never good to call out teammates like that
