I have seen a lot of people saying Jude doesn't deserve to be close to Vini in Ballon d'or. But as we can see in this statistics, its not the case and both have their fair claim for the coveted trophy.

As we can see here, Jude dominates the defensive as well as passing stats over Vini per 90 minutes. However, that's expected from him as he is a midfielder. But why are people ignoring the stat that Jude also has similar per 90 goal scoring and assist stat.

Also another argument is how Vini has been crucial in the final stretch, especially in the UCL. However why are we forgetting the initial push that Bellingham gave us. We were actually a lot comfortable towards the end cause we were comfortable in the La Liga from the beginning itself.

I am not saying Vini deserves Ballon d'or over Jude or vice versa. But, we should consider the whole stats of both and not just select some stats.

  2. Jude did better in the lesser games, Vini just peaked so extremely high in the most important games of the season that it kind of overshadowed all of the work Jude did

  3. The only difference was that injuries made Bellingham worse at the end of the season and interestingly Vinicius got better after injury. If you isolate the stats to calendar 2024, Vini is having a seriously world class season since coming back from injury in January.

  7. As a Brazilian, the Copa America vs Euro affects the final vote a lot. I really wanted Vini to win the Ballon d’Or, but with England getting into the second final in a row, and now with Bellingham on the team, it gives the edge to the Englishman. Nonetheless, after the Champions League final, reporters from England were already saying they would vote for Bellingham, for obvious reasons. In my understanding, Vini had to be in the Copa America final to have a chance to win it.

    Vinicius definitely has a claim, but in my opinion his chances were significantly diminished by the fact that he missed the crucial game against Uruguay because of two really dumb yellows. Vini has to focus on playing football next season and stop arguing with the refs and opponents. Hopefully Copa America will teach him that lesson.

    If England wins the Euros, Jude will be the absolute winner. Especially if he gives a good game tomorrow.

  9. Jude had a grand season coming onto a new team, being a massive pillar in so many matches. Vini’s an amazing player which deserves a ballon d’or but this season is for Jude

    Vini’s role is to go create unbalances and go 1v1. He will obviously lose many more balls and have less efficiency.

    Jude is a midfielder and efficiency is what he’s supposed to bring.

    This is a classical example of how numbers out of context means absolutely nothing.

    Despite Jude looking much better under this light, Vini still is the most decisive player. They both are excellent at what they do and anyone trying to justify one being better than the other is crazy.

  13. You just have to watch the game man, it’s really that simple. Jude has been amazing, way better than anyone could’ve reasonably expected and deserves consideration for Ballon D’or cor sure. But stat watching and calculators don’t quantify the impact of Vini. Every team we play against commits half their defensive effort to stopping Vini, not letting him go one on one, they have to stay back on some attacks becaud
    Se you can’t leave him alone, he draws yellows, he runs the entire game, he’s a constant threat that creates something out of nothing more than any other player in the world right now. That’s invaluable.

  14. For me it’s Jude. But if Spain wins Euro I say give it to Dani Carvajal, his best season ever offense and defensive machine. He scored winner in ucl final, if he scores in euro finals and has a great game give it to him. He would have won everything

  25. This is stats for Liga. Vinis claim for Ballon D’or is based on his superb performance in knockout stages of CL, in addition to a decent liga season. He was clearly the best player in CL later stages. Big games, he made the difference. I don’t think stats would do justice to his performance.
