Is all this bad shit really happening? How is this fucking possible? Very poor countries have hosted the games and nothing like this was ever reported.
If even the British can’t tolerate it, it must be bad.
What seems likely to me: it was announced that Paris 2024 wanted to make the diet offered to athletes more plant-based with more plant-based proteins.
So I think they had to reduce the amount of meat available, and increase the amount of plant-based proteins (with lentils for example). But they assumed that the athletes would adapt, except that they didn’t.
This gives me a flashback. 20 years ago I was at a summer games competing (not the Olympics but a regional event that’s the closest I’d ever get 🤣).
Swimming finals were always in the evening and got back to the village long after every other event. Twice before they had issues of swimmers coming back and there being no food left, no one left to cook it etc etc. Event organizers were told and had it under control.
Night one get back, absolutely no food left. They did not have it under control. Did get slightly better for the rest of the event.
According to a post someone made on the sub earlier this morning, The Olympic village reportedly ran out of eggs.
This whole experience has given me very bad feelings towards the French.
You’d think they would poll the countries on what their athletes eat – not that they could meet everyone’s preferences – and learn from past Olympic Games.
Every single time

no McDonalds? WTF
It’s interesting, I have been seeing athletes eating normal portions & was thinking back to how Michael Phelps would eat the equivalent of 6 or 7 meals at a go. I was wondering how the big guys were faring as it’s the ladies posting their meals.
Some countries have there own canteen – Australia for 1. I read a comment that you can smell BBQ around the Argentinian quarters.
