  1. Huske came from the shadow realm to snatch that gold from Walsh

  2. Never saw that coming.. Beating walsh! Great race.. Go team USA🇺🇸

  3. Thought Walsh was a shoo-in for gold but Huske had other plans.

  4. Is this Team USA’s second gold medal overall or has anyone else won a gold medal today besides Torri?

  5. Bit of an unfortunate swim for Gretchen but so happy for Huske after she finished 0.01 off the podium in Tokyo

Also wow the Tokyo medalists fell off hard in this event

  6. She looked so emotional at the end. She came back in the last 50m to win it all! So happy for her win, hope she has an awesome career ahead.

  7. Congrats – well deserved. Also super proud of Zhang yufei 🙏

  8. Did not breathe the last couple strokes to come back at the end

  9. Not a swimmer so don’t really know the benefits, but seemed she didn’t breathe the last few strokes driving to the finish head down where Walsh was driving head up.. maybe someone can comment

  10. Great race, breaststroke looks exhausting, but they still won. I admire their dedication

  11. so sweet how emotional she got + pulling Walsh up with her for the national anthem :’)

  12. Why does Huske look like she could own a Siberian Husky lol

  13. She was insane on that back half to make up the literally fraction of a second get the wall before her NBA wingspan teammate.

That shit was boss. And then her reaction was just why I watch the Olympics. Amazing.

  14. A bit interesting that arguably the top 3 most accomplished in this event (going by medals) in the past 5 years are all of Chinese descent.

Torri Huske won gold in 2022/2024 and bronze in 2023; Maggie MacNeil won gold in 2019/2021 and silver in 2023; and Zhang Yufei won gold in 2023, silver in 2021, and bronze in 2022/2024.

That’s 10/15 of the available medals in the 5 championships with all 5 of the golds. Besides them are Emma McKeon (bronze 2019/2021), Sarah Sjostrom (2019 silver), Marie Wattel (2022 silver) and Gretchen Walsh (2024 silver)

  15. Felt like huske didn’t know how to react because Walsh was “supposed” to win. Walsh wasn’t happy with that silver
