Russia struggles to repel incursion by Ukraine | DW News

Russia is sending more forces to its Kursk region in an attempt to repel a Ukrainian attack that is now in its fourth day. Russian state media say Moscow is deploying multiple rocket launchers, artillery guns, and heavy tanks to fend off one of Ukraine’s biggest incursions into Russian territory since the war began. The attack has prompted Russia to declare a regional state of emergency. This video obtained by Reuters news agency allegedly shows a destroyed Russian military convoy in the Kursk region. According to Russian estimates, around one thousand Ukrainian troops and more than two dozen armoured vehicles and tanks were involved in the initial attack.

  1. The analysis here is absurd. Ukraine may have sent one or two regiments (what the US would call battalions) across the border. They have made a limited advance of up to 20KM on a front of 30 to 40KM. Clearly, Ukraine won't be able to occupy and hold on to this territory with the forces they have allocated to this large border raid. I suspect this is nothing more than an attempt to draw off Russian forces from other fronts and embarrass Putin.

  2. Putin don't understand weakness only strength, 1000 soldiers breaking through Russia territory, combine NATO Russia is in trouble, the strength of Russia is nuclear weapons, which some others country also possess.

  3. Ukrainian reich 😂
I mean, how can you even talk about peace with a nation like the russians? It’s simply not possible.
The more weapons the west, the sooner this war will end.

  4. I fear this may end up like Gettysburg. The south was sick of fighting on their own soil and thought it was about time the north saw the war up close. It didn't end well.

  5. The expert “there are three ways this could go” really? A third grader can predict that as good as anyone else can predict an earthquake.
